im wondering of any 1 has any ideas, i keep losing compression on cylinders 1 and 2, more on number 1, i've checked all the stuff i can, i even thought about it being bore wash from the chipped ecu but have tryed another ecu on it,
not the same really i lost compression before due to bits of metal causing the valves not to fully close, but when i fitted the willy head so i cud try getting the car to fcs it done this lost abit of compression on 3 and more on 4, thats why i rebuilt the engine in the first places cus loads of us at work thought it was due to piston rings sticking, and no i didnt snap any piston rings lol
Do you mean like a "Dry" test Craig where you then stick oil down the bore and carry out a "Wet" test to see if compression increases or do you mean a "Leak" test where you're looking for compression loss as a percentage?
hmm just filled the bores up with some oil span it over a few times, and got loads of comp back, hmm not sure if its a poblem with the ecu im running making it run way 2 rich, just won a prober williams ecu off flee bay guna wait till that turns up, and try agin, if not any 1 fancy a 5brid bbq lol
because it could be a poor map or the chip has decided to play up and be making it to over fuel, i know before when i had it running it had loads of black smoke coming out when i revved it, plus i've got to run the engine in and over fuelling it isnt really the best way to do it,
how do you pressurise the cylinders, with an air line or something? do you have anything that does the job, could it just be needs a good drive heavy foot
