Looking for a Vee

Not any liquids for sale at the moment though. Really shows up the vees curves even on a dull day, as Kett said. Can look flat sometimes then the light on brings out the 3 stage pearl .quite unique still at just 17 in the UK now..but like all the ID colours you will pay a premium.

I know the Vees aren't "that" fast but the overall package really interests and appeals to me. In a perfect world I would take the blue.

Blues are lovely and added bonus is you'll save a few pennies on one. I'd defo join up if thinking of purchasing, ESP off the forum to find out any history on potential purchases :approve:

I think LY, CB and MR are the 'warmest' Vee colours. Perhaps this cold snap is leading me to recommend warm colours?
Silvers and Blues are definitely cold...

Hi

Just prefer the look and reviews I have read of the phase 2; they are also holding their money more to be honest. I guess that's just my opinion but the phase 2 is preferable.

My 911 is a 996 Turbo. It has the Aerokit and X50 pack. It's 450bhp according to Porsche figures but I bought it used so it could be mapped (specialists i take it to say it is the fastest X50 they have had in!) I know the headlights on the 996 get stick but I couldn't afford a 997 at the time and I actually like the look of my car. I promised one before I turned 30 and it was on the "to own list" and I got it nearly four years ago.

Having had various fast cars (500bhp RS6, a 300 bhp Focus RS, tuned Audi S3s, big Turbo ibiza cupra, a Sierra Cosworth Powered Westfield etc), the 911 is the quickest car I have had. Love it.

Onto the Vee, this is another on my "to own" list... So, about this yellow 255?
You couldn't go wrong with either a Phase 1 or a Phase 2, but I guess it is purely down to preference. I have two Phase 2's (Illiad Blue and Liquid Yellow), but would love to have a (Phase 1) Trophy at some stage. Love both colours. However, I wouldn't get hung up on the colour, but rather buy on condition and service/maintenance history.

Indeed the 996 Turbo is a quick car, especially with the X50 option - a lot of car for the money you pay for one these days, so very good value. The Vee will be a lot slower, but the challenge will be greater, and it will be a rewarding experience - I am sure you will love it. What you may not like is the seating position (too high), the initial understeer on entry, the high centre of gravity (weight transfer), and the care you need to exercise in damp/wet conditions, especially after being used to the sure footedness of the 4x4 drivetrain on the 911 Turbo. The Vee has plenty of power in standard form to get you into a whole heap of trouble if you are not careful........that is what I like about it most.

Do join up though - well worth the cost of joining up since you will learn a lot more about the Vee and possibly about your potential purchase when you find one.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Agree, it was only ever going to be a blue one for me, regardless of cost/ rarity.

Anyone else think the blue turns a bit green/turqoise in the sunshine? you can see it slightly in Roystino's profile picture...
