Cant wait t get it one the car....

But off to work i go ..............

Sorry to be a party pooper! I originally got the same green panel filter for mine and to be honest it didn't make much difference compared to the standard one. I took it out and sold it on Ebay and bought a BMC a couple of weeks after - by the way it's a pain to get the old filter out!

Matt.

I found it relativly easy t do with the covers on.... i think it has made a diff.... feels alot perkier top of the rev range. no lull...which i was gettin ... am impressed :)....thats coupl;ed with me zorst..tis minta :)

Can I ask where you got this from and how much was it delivered?

Will this fit a mk1 Vee?

Cheers

the mark one is a different size... i got it from halfruads for 40 notes.... quick cos the dude said they went into admin and wouldnt be able t sell green no more...dunno how true this is

A panel filter will make zero difference.

Loads of placebo type effects though but still zero difference.

Just means you don't ever have to clean the thing.

At the end of the day its just letting the same air in, the same way but still filtering out the same stuff.

Thats whats its for and thats what it does....sad but true!

From the phot your OEM filter looks angled at the far side? And the Green panel square?

Have to disagree with you slightly there Tim, a lot of aftermarket filters are a lot more free-flowing than stock items and as most folk with a half decent understanding of an Otto engine will know, the amount of air you flow into an engine the more power you will produce!

Do a rolling road with before and after runs and see just how much a panel filter gains....zilcho.

Its not exactly acting like a turbo and sucking more air in now is it.

Yes its slightly freer flowing but its not quite as simple as just flowing more air in.

Even sealed induction kits have been known to loose power over the OEM airbox.....

I bought a Green filter too for my mk2. I had the idea that the engine responded much quicker and had more torque at the low revs. Could be because my old filter hadn't be changed in 4 years...
What really surprised me (in a positive way) was the sucking sound I got out of it ! It was almost the same as running the engine without the filter ! (I just had to do that for a few seconds, what a sound !)
I really think it's 65 euros well spent.

I first bought a K&N filter and removed all panelling to build it in. When I removed it all I came to the conclusion that it didn't fit... !@#$%^& Seems some jackass supplier placed the wrong typenumber. Conclusion : there is no replacement for mk2's by K&N... Luckily I could return the damn thing. Ordered the Green filter instead.

Drove 3 days without panels, but with helmet (looks ridiculous, but saves the ears !) before I built the panels back. The shop said they didn't know when the filter would be delivered.
A day later I could come and get it ! Great timing, huh.
Luckily I now knew that I could replace it just by taking of the top covers only... Phew. Changed in 15 minutes.

Highly recommended if you don't want to spend too much on sound/BHP improvement !
