Andy, I've heard about you and your spotty Byker Estate mates. I wanted to have a car with some rubber left on the tyres so had you of offered before I collected it I would have declined. You heard anything about my missing Vespa yet on the twoking grapevine?

Karl, it was the PH Tunnel Run – a lot of TVRs, Vipers, Vettes, Chevys, Ferraris, Nobles, Porsches, an Ultima, Lotus, Renault Spider and a ....Clio. Pictures here:

Oh my God. What are they teaching in schools these days?

Italian for 'wasp' the Vespa helped mobilise Italy and Europe after World War 2. The design brief was to produce a simple, robust and affordable vehicle – easy to drive for both men and women, able to carry a passenger, and not get the driver's clothes dirty.

All those Peugeot Speedfights and Italjet Dragsters are just modern takes on something that was completely revolutionary at the time.
