Loltus Exige

Assuming the same as the vx220 and either drop tank to change fuel pump or removing interior and opening inspection hatch up by cutting to allow pump housing out.

Time to fit pro alloy baffled endurance tank if not in already ;)

My wing mirror has been delivered today.

Got home from work and took the rubber sleeve off the old un and gently put it on the new one.

Masked up the new one , and using a near dust free ultra clean* facility started the plastic primer coat after using iso something or other alcohol to clean the surface

* er , almost.

So , apparently you want it tacky , not dry otherwise the clear doesnt adhere to the base coat.

I dusted it again with a coat , let it flash off ( paint term apparently ) for 10mins and then have done 3 coats of clear lacquer

Going to let it go off now for rest of day and possibly fit this evening depending on how warm it stays in the garage

Unmasked the mask. I have a few blobs on the bits that aren’t meant to be silver but I’ll sort them when the paint has cured.

Put it in the “lightbox” in the house. It’s warm and dry.

ECU / loom / map sensor should be arriving today.

I have pestered the hell out of Paul when it’s arriving.

Provisionally booked in for Tuesday next week.

I have some commitments next week though ( involving beer! ) so I won’t be able to collect it till sometime the week after.

Getting a tiny bit excited.

In actual car fixing work I have reattached the numberplate. It’s shattered at the bottom mind , so I’ll get a replacement sorted soon.

This lotus is a riot ( albeit a slow riot in a straight line ) so should be a faster riot after the mods.

Once the mods are on I’ll spend some time relearning the car , do a few test days and get some AD08r on all 4 corners.

I just need a lie down after the spends recently.

Did a brake fluid change on mine weds night in prep for track action at the weekend. Put ATE typ 200 fluid in as my specialist change the fluid at mot time with unspecified stuff. Probably overkill as the stuff that came out was clean as a whistle.

Also changed the brake buffers from my improvised gorilla tape solution to actual buffer pads from Elise shop.

Then found a bloody nail in the back tyre. So dropped that yesterday for fixing.

Tomorrow is going to be a flat out day. Ive got a workshop tour of the Tesla workshop in the morning followed by a trackday in the afternoon at knockhill. Then hammer home shower and back out for a wedding reception at night.
