So I have sent back the misordered bracket (completely my fault) and am deliberating about getting a snap on/off steering wheel to aid my graceful entry / departure from my plastic fantastic

Can make a big difference getting in and out if space is tight.

Have all these issues when building Rollcages for small cars.

Doing a Cage for an Alexander Turner at the moment. Not much room at all. Not much fun with Ali floors.

Tillet's do help.

That is pretty much what I am having issue with Mark! In my "old" seat I could rotate my hips, push with the leg and shuffle over the sill.
New seat I can rotate, a bit , bang my knee on the steering wheel and then get wedged.

Sometimes it's finding the knack of getting in and out. Then making it look easy! 😁
I had it nailed with the old seats, I just dont think its that easy in the new ones.
Having said that I was in my full PPE when fitting the seats ( standard issue shorts and flip flops )

I have now fitted both seats. The second seat took two hours after dropping the seat bolts 18000 times. Bloody frustrating.

To add to the frustration one of the captive bolts that holds a corner of the roof panel is no longer captive.
Ah , balls.

I have been speaking to some of the Lotus boys and they are recommending to drill out the old bobbin, remount it and then re bond it back in.

Sounds fun.

I am working the following principle

1) I attempt a repair and it works but if that doesnt work
2) I can goto a bodyshop if they cant fix it
3) I can do the usual thing and fix it by throwing cash at it and go carbon roof . See point 4 after purchase
4) Ill request a bodyshop paints the carbon roof in a semi transparent silver coat like the Ferrari F40 for maximum show off effect

I am at £10.45 right now so its going to have to go all kinds of wrong
