Loltus Exige

Car is now booked in for next Tuesday for around 2 weeks to have my nitrons removed and refreshed. Also having a slight oil weep attended to and the dipstick run modified so I can actually read the level without taking 3/4 of the car apart.

I am also considering buying a oil breather setup. Convince me otherwise folks..

I have the car away now to have a few things attended to ;

Slight oil weep. Not a clue where it’s coming from but I know where it’s not coming from.

Nitrons are being removed and rebuilt

Dipstick is being relocated as it’s a bastard to get out.

Earths are being checked.

When I get it back I’ll have the geo done

I think I might fit a oil breather system from pro alloy and then it shall be complete.

Must Admit, I'm lucky to be able to do my car myself.

Some of the Labour bills we have at work would make me Cry!

I find that I either have time or money but never both.

While I am earning the money its more cost effective for me to send it somewhere.

The coilovers have been refurbished and 4 new springs plus helpers purchased.

Sadly I have broken and had an op to remove my submandibular gland in my neck. This means I cant drive at the moment. So I cant collect my car. Really missing the exige TBH.

It will be going for a full alignment when I get it back then planning on Anglesey in 2020 and Blyton. I would like to do Donnington this year as well.

Was ready to give your post a like after reading the 1st paragraph and then read the 2nd.

Get well soon Andy.

You don’t realise how much you’d miss driving until you can’t do it.

Yep! Agreed. I should be good next weekend. I think.

I was supposed to take 2 weeks off work but being self employed meant I gave myself 2 days. Got a great scar on me neck though. Pics available on request..

Today was a good day.

I collected the car. Oh how I have missed it.

I had the nitrons rebuilt. The heights are all over and the car desperately needs and alignment but oh my! The suspension is so much nicer. I can feel the damping working and it feels so good.

Looking forward to an alignment and setup.

It was noted that my battery is on its way out. Its on trickle charge now to see if it can be revived. However, I somewhat begrudge paying about a million pounds for a battery that has the same mass as the sun. I want a lightweight battery ...

Here is what I am thinking

Odyssey AGM Extreme PC680 (M6 Internal Stud Fitting) from Euro with the 50% off comes in at £86.99 delivered
Odyssey Brass Battery Conversion Posts coming from the rally store weighing in at £19.44 delivered
A snazzy cage to hold it against a TBC design utlising the standard OEM captive bolt from here https://www.rallynuts.com/race-batterie ... posts.html coming in at £23.95

£130.38 so far, plus Ill need some ally flat bar to use and some angle which is available on ebay for around £15 delivered. Then its a case of drilling and grabbing some nuts and bolts to make a cage retainer

IT in theory will look a little something like this when finished

A bit of weight over the front not a bad thing in these cars, if it was in the rear different matter ;)

Always found bosch silver a decent battery for the money and for a road car prefer the backup of a few more turns of the engine if needed

Whatever you go for make sure it has a decent handle or put a strap on for if it needs removing........pita thing to remove :D
