Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right section but thought you guys might like to see our LHD Gt turbo,we found the car tucked away in Japan about a year ago now in remarkable condition for a 90's Gt turbo having lived all it's life on salt free Japanese roads. It's done 60,000 miles and is totally unmodified even down too it's original peashooter exhaust! I think it was exported and sold new in Japan way back in 1990.I've done some light resto work including flocked rear door cards at Spooks and given it a good service with all the usual bits. Also got rid of the non standard alloys and fitted a fresh set of powered coated GT alloys.I drive the car occasionally only in the dry on the country roads near where I live, the LHD does'nt bother me as I use to have an Intergrale and compared to modern stuff it's a joy, these 80/90's pocket rockets are where my heart lies )

Thanks for the comments all.It has the factory aircon fitted, not sure if this was an option on the RHD cars? All the panels are amazingly straight and ripple free given it's 25 years old, whoever had it in Japan really looked after it:)

Air con is a rare option. Does it work??

Thanks for the replies all, great forum! As requested here's a few pics of the aircon setup, been a while since I last drove the car but it seemed to work fine last time I ran it,probally could do with a re-gass though, plan too get the whole aircon system serviced in the next few weeks.I think R5 turbo's were sold new in Japan but for some reason only supplied in LHD form..folk seem too do a double take when the see a LHD GT turbo on UK roads :) got mixed reaction about the non-standard alloys so in the end replaced them with a set of freshly powercoated original set, drives more sweetly with the oe wheels fitted..The underside seems too have survived it's 25 years amazingly well in Japan, wish we could use snow chains in the UK instead of salting the roads!
