LeMans 2018 - Roadtrip + 1/2

I done LeMans 24hr a few years ago 2009 iirc ? Done a few days was good, mad Friday was mega back then i hear its quite tame now in comparison..back then everybody had to stop and do a burnout, me included in my tungy gtt on the was back from the local Carrefour for bbq food and beers. Cool box full of beers and a day with a load of other brits stopping people to do burnouts

Alain Prost karting LeMans and watching the racing all night, Mansell crashing early on in the race. All great memories

There were about a million Gendarmes near the usual mad Friday spot. Someone go mowed down a few years back so they calmed it down. I still gave it a blip or two to appease the crowds mind.

Thats what i heard too gendarmes everywhere. I bet it was still a great experience regardless. Can you still hire the tvs for watching the race & results ? It was a free for all years ago everybody getting flashed on speed cameras etc, the good old days when they could not get your info

Nope, can’t hire stuff but tbh there are large TVs everywhere so you can get a handle on the race

Not 100% sure.
My work is sporadic.
I need to goto Bahrain next year , do Spa Classic as well..
Looking into quad rotor engines for a rx7 as well ..
If cash is good then yeah

Nope, can’t hire stuff but tbh there are large TVs everywhere so you can get a handle on the race

It was something daft like a small tablet with massive deposit needed. Was awesome had loads of info on lap times the lot, got pics of it somewhere

Didn’t see those then mate ! Had a radio and that sorted out most of the info.

TBH , wasn’t worried who was winning . Was just all kinds of awesome.

Tertre Rouge at 0300 was amazing.

Its fantastic Matt , it really is. You know I often goto Bahrain. I rate the 24h very highly. Its rough and ready, but phonominal

Yeah , about 6 veterans and 2 newbies. Camped at Beausejour. Rough and ready but perfect location.

Its just the best weekend. Been twice and would dearly love to make it a hat-trick, it now sadly falls on my daughters birthday.

Best campsite too. Rough and ready is what makes it, it would not be the same staying in hotels or a cottage/gite.
