The usual meeting place at Ings service station is currently undergoing some work which has reduced the available parking to about 1/3rd of it's capacity, so it won't be sufficient to fit us all in.

I've found another suitable location only 4 miles away at plumsgarth farm shop/cafe (postcode LA8 8LX), just follow the signs to the overflow car park.

Indeed Phill the few times I have been there, when visiting the Lake District, I found that the 2 Sisters Café was popular, amongst visitors and locals alike, as a place to go to for breakfast. So the café gets busy, but had not noticed the overflow car park, and how busy/crowded that car park gets. As such, we may be okay as long as we have enough room to manoeuvre our cars around.

Is it possible someone can do a bit of a summary of this?! I got that we are meeting at 11am I think at Ings, but what normally happens after that?!

After meeting at 11.00 at plumsgarth farm shop/cafe (postcode LA8 8LX) (see earlier post), usually have a bit of a chat/admire each others cars for half an hour or so then have a drive around taking in some nice scenery in the lakes, a lunch stop off and then the second part of the route which will take us on some quieter roads this year.

The route will be different to previous years and will cover quite a few miles touring the Lake District :race:, you can have a look at posts from previous years on the forum to get a flavour of the day

Get your name down Joe - there aren't many occasions you'll get to drive with 20 or so other Vee's and on roads that offer stunning scenery as well [smilie=yay.gif]

Massively tempted but I'll be a late decider I'm afraid, I'm out for a mates birthday on the Friday so need to see if that's going to be a heavy one, and it's a 2.5 hour drive just to get to you guys!

Do you know where you're having lunch, might make more sense for me to come and meet you there, give me a bit more time!

One of the reasons for an 11AM start is to accomodate those travelling up on the day from "darn south" :salut:, however you could make it a bit easier on yourself Shaun and stay near Kendal the night before, must admit I don't know how you guys travel up on the day then do the driving during the day and travel back the same day - you must be insane [smilie=icon_eek.gif] [smilie=icon_eek.gif] :bow:
