Laguna Immobiliser?

My 1995 laguna has decided it wont start just clicks doesnt turn over at all battery good and starter only 2 months old wont even bump start, opens fine with the remote key and immobiliser light goes out but when hold key in starter position for few seconds immobiliser light starts flashing along with service. I thought was possibly crank sensor as initally wouldnt start then after couple key turns did, so cleaned it put back started 3 times first turn then nothing but click! and hasnt changed since.

I downloaded the code program to see if that works but the code in my key V7F6D30-7D5 has too many digits. I wonder if is anything I could have done while removing and replacing crank sensor that could cause this or if was just immobiliser showing first signs of playing up?

Any help gratefully received before I send it to scrap yard!

Hi

Try checking the starter relay, something similar happened to me.
Car wouldn't start just click tried all sorts of fixes but turned out to be faulty relay.Although I never had the immobiliser flashing as I had mine disconnected

Will do but since didnt start with a tow thought more likely sonething else.

Also when turn key in ignition to start it all the lights on dash dim considerably so is draining currently but not cranking engine.

Sorry didn't think, mine is an automatic so I am not sure if the relay is there in a manual? From memory the solenoid on the starter on mine was loose as well, which the auto electrician never picked up!

Well got the AA out again and he got it to turn over but didnt start he reckons starter has gone again plus something else stopping it running. So its back to guy who fitted starter then see how we go, it gets reprieve from scrappy for a few more days lol
