I thought i would start posting on here as it seems to have a bit more activity that a few of the others, this is a summary of the megane build so far.

I had been on the look out for a LY R26 for around 2 months and finally purchased one from my friend craig on april 3rd 2016 however weeks prior to this I have began to buy some parts.

A RS Tuning 3" decat was ordered, K Tec 3" exhaust, FMIC (17 row), silicon intake pipe and ITG Induction kit, vibratechnic engine mounts and a short shift kit.

I'm still awaiting a forge hard pipe kit to arrive and the force sensor holders.

The car will be off to Paul at RS tuning for 630cc injectors and map at some point.

Also order a set of the cazan bells with ap rotors for the front, what do you guys recommend with regard to pads for the road? And rear discs? And fluid?

Just debating tyre choice too, as it has ns2r's with I'm not particularly a fan of, the clio had r888 which are far too compromised on the road so I was thinking of ps2's for the Megane.

Car will be treated to millers nano drive oil change before mapping and a set of new plugs, just debating on box oil choice if anyone has and recommendations?

So today I got the forge hard pipes fitted, they are a bit tricky and require the front bumper off fro anyone reading this thinking of doing them.
uploads.tapatalk_cdn.com_20160403_5448669fee47c0665cf648fe025569a3.webp

I got the new number plate lights fitted too.

Washed and waxed the car for now until my new cleaning products turn up, then it will be getting a full decontamination (there a lot of tar on it) and a 2 stage machine polish and a couple of layers of Swiss wax, the wheels will get similar treatment too.

Solid rear discs turned up along with plugs and another oil filter

So today I put the 2 piece discs on the front with mintex 1144 pads, braided lines and 197 discs on the rear with brembo pads and braided lines, added some eibach 20mm spacers to the rear too and give all he wheel bolts a lick of paint, bled the brakes with ate 2000 and ran about 1.5l through it to make sure it got a good clear out. Does anyone else find removing the rear calliper mount an absolute nightmare, those male torx bolts are a terrible design! also the rear braided line are a pretty shitty job too, you have to undo one, and get covered in fluid whilst undoing the other as there is lack of access. Still got lots to do before mapping.
Anyway, I got a picture of the fronts and took the car for a little drive out tonight, the brakes are sharp and I have a lot more confidence in them now.

Another little delivery today (who'd of known dpd deliver Sunday's!) new exhaust hangers for the rear as one has a bit of sag so thought I'd change them both

Car was at rs tuning today for a map and 630cc injectors, it made some good numbers, finished at 287.8 BHP and capped the torque similar to stay in a safe limit, the car is a total different animal now and great to drive, would recommend it to anyone!

Next up will be some tyres, some suspensions changes and then I'll probably forge it!

So my suspension turned up yesterday, hopefully I'll get it on this weekend setup and on the comer scales then adjust the geometry to suit.

So my tpi wheel bolts arrived to suit my pms front 5mm spacers and normal length bolts for the rear for my eibach spacers, I opted for the black series and got a set of locking bolts for each too!

New dampening adjusters are here so will fit them this weekend.

Oh and a tip for anyone reading and also wanting to clean there seatbelts, vanish oxy and a jetwash work great!

I installed the bonnet strut conversion this week and am in the process of collecting bits for the Xeon conversion

So, the Megane developed a clicking from the near side driveshaft, I've ordered a replacement from Renault, drop links and anti-twist links. Hopefully they will be here for the weekend.
I have also bought a pioneer SPH-DA120 double din with Apple play, I'm just waiting for the fascia to arrive, after reading up about Apple car play, you can run Spotify, maps, take calls and read/reply to texts via Siri without touching your phone which is great! I will take some photos when the parts are fitted.
New drive shaft on tonight, drop links and twist links, I opted for the trw ones as they are the manufacturer of the Renault ones, car feels as if there is a lot more feedback from the front now, the old links were past their best and seemed loose.

So I have booked the car in with the guru Mark Black for some work, I would do the jobs myself but for the price it's a no brainer really, and the stamp in he service book.
The Megane is in for R26R clutch with TTV single mass flywheel, release bearing and slave cylinder. Additional to this it will also be getting a cambelt change, this isn't due till next year but whilst it is there I would rather just get it all done at once. Mark has machined up some grease nipple bolts for my hubs too. I have ordered all the additional bushes and steering parts that I haven't fitted already so that whilst the subframe is off these can be changed too, I will get some pictures to post whilst I am there.

The final update of where the car is currently at
MY car went into Mark Blacks for a major service the following was carried out:
TTV single mass flywheel
R26r clutch and slave cylinder
Genuine cambelt kit
Genuine water pump
Genuine auxiliary belt kit
Millers nanodrive 5-40w oil & genuine filter
Powerflex bushes on arb and rear beam
Genuine inner & outer tie rods with steering rack bush
Hub bolts with grease nipples

Great guy and answered any questions I had, the old clutch and flywheel were ducked, it hasn't worked out much more than doing it myself either! Would highly recommend!

Should have spare wishbones soon so they will be off for powdercoating then new ball joints and the other black series powerflex bushes.

Great little read!! Picked my car up from Mark Black yesterday after he did some work, looking forward to it's first outing @ Donnington park on Sat 5th Nov! :)

Love the Clio 197 Steering Wheel by the way... can feel the urge growing inside me to get that changed on my R26...

Ill not tell you that we can get you a pair of swivel bearings , delivered for £30. Take a look in the shop.

Good update though.

Cheers Andy, will change the post!

Some great updates there mate. Love the car and what you've done to it too. Great inspiration for when I hopefully get one!!

Cheers buddy, a lot of work has gone into it since April, few more bits left to do yet.

Nice, Mark is great, what did you have done?

The 197 wheel feels good, I will get it retrained at some point I think.

So a friend of mine, Craig kindly pressed the new bushes and ball joints in the spare wishbones I have, they just need slick of paint before they go on this week.

uploads.tapatalk_cdn.com_20161112_56f02f935b13f10b860b73d922b111ce.webp

I also have so xenons to go in I'm just waiting for the rear level sensor loom from Renault as the one that came with them has been chopped in half! But of course this part is on back order and has to come directly from Renault in France. One I have it I will install them and program them in on Clip.

I am also debating a retrim for the 197 wheel or the new cup racer wheel? Opinions? Note the car will probably get a set of pole positions or sportsters at some point.

Very nice thread mate - loads of very tasty mods :)

I think thats the first one of the sparco wheels I've seen - looks pretty good tbh!!! I have the sabelt one on mine and do rate is a lot, but I have one of @Ricardo 's custom cruise control/horn CF brackets with it to retain functionality :)

Never tried a 197 wheel though - they look good and seem nice and meaty :)

197 wheel !

I do love the 197 wheel it's great, it just needs a spruce up which is why I considered the Renault sport one.

Yes I think I would have to vet a cc bracket too to retain functionality. Do you run a resistor or have you turned the air bag off via clip?

I actually still have a BNIB Sabelt RenaultSport steering wheel with a carbon cruise bracket already wired and ready to plug n play, along with an aftermarket boss. So basically everything to swap over and retain the cruise and horn functions.

The sparco wheel looks great. How much did it set you back ?? ive seen them at £240, fancy one for the van
