My 21 Project

Morning All, not sure if this is the right place to post such things.....

Thought I should start a record of getting my 21 up and running. I bought this thing late last year, it's been off the road for a good few years though, I think last used in 2006.

Anyway, I've kinda started work on getting it up and running this weekend. Not directly on the car mind, I'm not that motivated! :smash:

We built a new house over here in the fatherland a couple of years ago, including a Steel/concrete prefab garage which since then has been stashed full of ****e meaning I could get the car in, but not get around it to do anything. So first part of the project was to sort out the garage.

So over the last week or so I've cleared it all out (amazing how much ****e you accumilate), painted the floor to seal it against any leakages from the car and have built some storage units against the back wall.

That's just made using some IKEA kitchen units, they are cheap and pretty strong actually. I think all that came in at about 220?, so quite reasonable. The space on the right is for my engine hoist (which I hope I don't have to use).

Also headed up to my mates gaff who is storing all the spares which came with the car and see what we have! The fella I got it off had taken a load of parts from a rotten 149000km car, including front and rear bumpers and a bonnet all in the right colour for mine. Also a complete exhaust which has seen better days, but overall looks perfectly useable.

I photographed what we had;

Thats nice.... I destroyed the gearbox on my 1st 21, but I think they are pretty reliable aren't they. I think that's defo worth keeping.

Not sure about those, maybe I should give them a good strip down and clean up, may prive useful for the future.

All useful to have, was delighted to see the standard fit dump valve amongst all that as someone has fitted a Barry one on my car at some point.

2 inlet manifolds. One with wiring loom for engine. What do you reckon, I can't imagine ever needing these, maybe take the throttle body off and have the injectors out too.

Driveshafts are worth keeping I suppose.

Keep everything, stuff is getting rare!

The inlet manifold with the plenum on that says "Injection" is off a 2.0 NA though thats no use.

I imagine that's completely valueless on ebay too. Will get it binned. Presumably injectors are different so no point keeping those either.
