Iceberg is idleing really bad. Its struggling for idle when cold and warm. im going to clean the ISCV out tomrow but dont have a fecking clue where it is. I know Marc had a picture of the location can anyone help?

No problem... maybe worth just giving the throttle body a clean as well.

Here are some video's of the car on tickover, Seemed weierd this morning as it was lumpy from cold then after 5 mins or so of tick over (warm) it went back to the usual 1k tick over. You can hear the lumpy running in the engine video. Im going to whip off the ICV today and give it a clean up.

Mike thats hardly anything to worry about to be honest :P My valver when it has some condensation in the exhaust or like now my headgaskets gone (suspected) it go down to like 200rpm

Yes thats it

they cost £104 from gsf new. hope it sorts it if you clean it. it didnt for me

Mike, second hand not an option? Im sure someone has a decent one available.

I have a few but cannot remember which ones work.

Hmmmm it's doing it less today and it seems to only do it when it's up to optimum runing temp now. Pull up to stop dip the clutch (netural) and it sits at 1.5k give the throttle a blip and it idel's normally. Might take it out again and give it another clean up this weekend :? I dont mind forking out for it if it need's it it's just an annoyance as i like it running sound as a pound :)

This morning started it up from cold and it was fine sat there at 1k on the usual tick over. Didnt struggle for idel or vary in any way. Then after my usual 15min drive to the car park it started playing up when stopping in the traffic and at lights just sitting at 1.5k revs with a constant rev as though someone had their foot on the throttle, But my feet were no where near (before anyone suggests that!) Anyway here is a video when i pulled up at work. You can see it sitting at 1.5k a usual blip of the throttle sorts this out but today it didnt (see video)

Is this really just the ISCV playing up or could it be more serious? It's just a little annoying to be honest!!

sitting at those revs after driving could be a dodgy earth on the speedo cable

But the engine note is constant as if my foot were on the pedal. The speedo binacle is clicking alot tho! thats another problem i need to get sorted!

Essex/kent valver guru's i need your help!

ai, speedo cable mate sounds like to me, had same issue on my old valver

theres a road speed sensor in the cable and the earth to the sensor can get corroded so either new cable or re-earth the black wire on the 3 prong connector on the top of the speedo cable just behind the clocks.

and before u ask, the reason it does that is the sensor senses the car is still doing xmph and holds the revs higher as it expects you to select a gear and set off again untill the speed drops below a set value, around 5-10mph in which case it drops to the normal idle, well if the sensors working. basically makes for a smoother rolling low speed gear change, like poppin in clutch to stop, lights suddenly go green as you roll up to them, so whack it into second and pull away smoothly!

Got any pictures of the back of the clock coops? Thanks for peoples help on this i hate it when iceberg plays silly buggers with me!
