IRIDIUM - DAN BAYES

Shit! I was touched by his thread about not being able to drive on cliosport and has attitude to his illness throughout.

I first met him the night before FCS 2 years ago in the travel lodge carpark. He struck me as so full of enthusiasm.

Sadly missed, but not forgotten!

RIP mate! [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

I noticed there is a lap of honour for him at FCS, and someone mentioned some stickers in his memory. I'm not sure how we get involved but i'm up for that!

Things like this can truely make a difference to how people view / live their lives. It has certainly made me stop and think about how much i have to be greatful for! A fitting lifelong human memorial in all of us. I think he'd like to see us learning from his shining example! [smilie=icon_cry.gif]

Sad, sad news.

Had the pleasure of meeting him on 2 different occasions and as everyone has quite rightly said he was a very, very nice chap who was always full of enthusiasm and was always up for a chat.

RIP Dan. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Mossy.

Hi guys - I'm Dan's brother.

Many thanks for all your support - it's great to know Dan was loved by all.

We are planning to have family flowers only at the funeral - but a couple of his other online groups have setup a page for our chosen charity Candlelighters - you can find it at http://www.justgiving.com/danbayes if you'd like to contribute

Thanks again

Thank you Simon for taking the trouble to join us and post.

I have suspended our own donations in the shop. Please use the link http://www.justgiving.com/danbayes

Best regards to you and family at this time. Dan's Featured Car review will remain as an inspiration to all of us.

Thanks Simon for signing-up to the forum, at least you get to see first hand all the tributes that many members of the club are paying to your brother Dan. I think most people would prefer to donate to a charity in connection with Dan, as opposed to a floral tribute - I know first hand the amazing work that cancer charities provide to sufferers and for the most part rely on the generosity of the families and friends to maintain the support they provide....

Let's hope that through CS and V6Clio.net we can donate a significant amount to Candlelighters charity in memory of such an amazing guy...

Hi, I left a donation through Cliosport.

Best wishes to you and the family.

I did not have the pleasure to meet Dan but I wanted to say how I feel sorry for his family and friends.

RIP Dan.

(sorry for my English)

I have never met Dan, but feel for all his family and friends.

Nice to see he is being remembered by so many like minded car enthusiasts.

RIP Dan

Sounds a great guy and an ispiration to us all. Hits home when you realise you'd do the same in the situation, head to the Nurburgring and round the Alps. A true pertrolhead.

Hope tomorrow goes well as I'm sure it will.

...Thought you might like to see the Condolence card I made and gave to Dan's parents today at his funeral....The words inside echoed the sentiments that all our members had mentioned in their posts about Dan - The card was sent on behalf of myself and V6Clio.net... [smilie=icon_cry.gif] [smilie=icon_cry.gif] I met his parents and brother and extended our condolences and thoughts from everyone at V6Clio.net - Dan's mum mentioned his Mk1 in her heartbreaking tribute to Dan....

God bless you Dan....we'll miss you...
