Insured for another year

So number 046 will be back on the road from the 01/05/2012! :) Can't wait!

£484 Prorata from May 1st to Feb 17th.

What a job it was getting insurance this year, my daily driver went up over £120, managed to get it down to £50 more but that was with the multicar discount! :(

Both with Admiral.

Admiral seem to be the way to go at the moment. They keep giving me the lowest quotes plus the bonus of multicar discounts! Yeah insurance has gone up across the board but with admiral its keeping any rise to a minimum thanfully.

admiral are fine for first year but wait till renewal time! Had three cars on multicar now got them all insured seperatly elsewhere far cheaper. Dont take it forgranted that multicar is any cheaper and trying to find written costs per car on the heap of paperwork recieved is impossible.

thats very true mark.

i had seperate quotes for all 3 cars. all cheaper than admirals m/car quote.

i was a little miffed with them. theymsent me my new renewal price about 20 quid cheaper than last years quote. so i phoned them up 10 mins later it was 200 quid cheaper...

Same here, found admiral expensive. 3 policies for 3 cars. 120 for gt turbo, 300 for cup and not sure about vee. Have to wait until it comes up but it was 370 for last year.

^^^ Same here first year i insured the vee and the daily runner for something like £600, then next year it nearly doubled!!! Needless too say (even after a heated conversation with Admiral!!)i went else where and insured both seperately at very good prices.

I can echo the same sentiments. Admiral are okay for the first year but renewal price was a joke, and this wasn't for the Vee but our daily drivers.

I found the limited-mileage Hagerty classic (multi) car policy to be a good bet for the Vee and the 993 RS - it includes Europe-wide breakdown cover as standard as well. Ideal if you are planning a jaunt across the continent.

Priced up Admiral multi-car the other day and for three cars it was a bit of a joke tbh. They wanted over £500 for my SportKa. Maybe the 'Sport' bit scared them...

Considering I drove the vee less than 2,000 miles last year I'm going for a future classics policy this year and use the Vees no-claims on another car so I avoid the 2 year expiry thing.

Insurance costs in general are a p1ss take at the moment.

I just switched from Hagerty and Churchill policies to a multi-car policy with Admiral.
It saved me some money but think its best to shop around and change policies, it keeps the b----rds on there toes !!!!

Just wondered I will be keeping my vee elsewhere. Can you still do multi-car policies with cars registered at different addresses??

Ditto what others have said re. Admiral. 1st year was awesome multi-car price. 2nd year I stayed with them after demonstrating that 2 x single car policies with others in the Admiral Group worked out much cheaper and they matched it on the multi-car policy. 3rd year they couldn't get close to the single car policies I'd found with others.

I have left admiral, second year renewal is not as expected, worth a look if your a new customer but I feel they take the mick after the first year. Going for a with a limited milage with Adrian Flux but still looking until 1st march.

it's a pain in the backside having to search and do renewal quotes etc...And i need that multi-car policy given 0NCB on the other car.

AFAIK NCB is not carried forward between cars, you still need to prove NCB on individual cars. Obviously though its worth swapping the longest NCB to the most highly grouped vehicle.

You're right Mark, NCB can not be duplicated. However, some insurance companies do take into account NCB from other cars insured, onto a policy with no NCB. Aviva do this. ;)
