mines £1950 in my name, 2ync, 4 and half year driving, elephant

22 year old

I've been looking recently as my insurance renews in 2 weeks adn the best I ahve so far is £899 with admiral and 1'm 24, 6yrs ncb, guildford postcode and my g/f on the policy. I'm can't work out if that's good or not but judging by some quotes it seems I could do better.

i'm 22 and pay 970 quid with elephant in my own name wit 2 years ncb.

how can this be?

i am with elephant, 22, 2 years no claims, low crime rate postcode. dont get how yours is half my price?

just got a quote with green light, 1600

waiting to see what elephant come to me with my renewal price end of september.

just been on all the websites mentioned here

i think some people on here are talking rubbish

cheapest for me is 1600 with greenlight

5 years i owned licensee
i am 23 when i want the insurance to start
3 years no claims
no accidents ever
no claims ever

how some same age as me get less than 1000, and how that one lad who is 18 saying its 2200 is complete tosh!

sorry.

I just renewed with Admiral. £951, 3 years no claims, I'm 24. Adding my mum on knocked £500 off the premium heh.

Dan

adding my mum knocked loads of my elephant one.

green light come in at cheapest

1600

but thats with them asuming i have been driving the car for 2 years it says? thats not thre case

i am going to wait till my elephant renewal comes. then i might shop around.

it 100% must be my postcode, or the fact i put my cars value @ £22,000

just used admiral, entered date of birth to indicate i was 24,

3 years no claims, licensee for 6 years

no claims, accidents etc etc

1400!

how the hell can it be a while 500 more than yours dan, its crazy,

defo my postcode i think, bb5 is raiting E on that postcode list on clio sport

ok people....all you under 25's sayin you have insurance quotes of around £1k... i got one thing to ask you......

WHO THE HELL IS THAT WITH!!!!

im 22, got 4yrs no claims protected (shud be 5 tho imho), car parked in garage behind gated house in bucks, no medical, criminal or previous accident problems.......and im being quoted £2560 as my best!!

WTF!!!

i dont own the car atm, was just gettin some ideas as id like to get one soon, but even still, i though £2560 was a bit excessive!

my brother is 20 and he got insurance on his RX-7 at just under £2....and that was wen he was 18!

makes me wanna cry! :)

Just re-insured my vee after xmas. Came in @ £831 from Adrian Flux. 6 YNCB age 24. All mods declared, quite a bit from standard, car valued @ 16k but with limited milage of 6k per annum.
My re-newal from greenlight was £880, they would not alter price to my new qoute so moved and saved the cash.
Actual policy is with Equity Red Star.

Steve :D

can you reduce the premium quite a bit then if you limit the mileage?

what are the consequences if you go over the mileage limit? can insurers say that voids the policy?

suppose so yes, never had the problem tbh, some insurers will ask for current mileage b4 they start the policy, others won't.

Also helps if you have NCB from other performance cars, this tells the insurer you can handle it etc.

Steve

have my girlfriend as second driver on my insurance, brought it down by nearly 400 quid, and she has trouble driving her 1.2 clio to the end of the street,

I'm 24, 3 years NCD, no fast car experience (unless you class a 206 1.6 16v XSi as a performance motor *cough*) - £900 fully comp with Admiral. Putting mum on the policy as an occasional user brought £500 off. Hey, she might need to drive it sometime...

Dan

Dont forget Your insurance premium can also depend on the area you live in, or your postcode.

I m currently paying £850 fully comp 4 Years NCD and ive just turned 25, the renewal came through when I was 24. :D

ok, so can someone just list a few of the insurance companies that have been good to you guys, so i can give them a call and try and get a more respectable quote.

from what ive read here...admiral seem to be a good choice.
