idle problem

hiya guys, my car used to idle at around 1500 rpm which i am guessing is around normal.

but recently its been idling just under 1000 rpm. any idea what it could be? not changes done since. only problems i know of are the exhaust going and in need of spark plugs. would this have any issue with it? any ideas guys? cheers

1500 seems high


950 is normal (for 16v atleast)

sorry matey wrong forum should have really put it here. but being lazy as no mouse lol.

and well its normally over 1000 for my 1.2 but its under the last few days and i notice the power lack a bit. just seems to not rev as much. any idea?

Could just be the affect that you think its idling lower so its not reving as hard. 1500 is very high. It should idle below 1000rpm though.

well to be honest, not sure what it was exactly but was at least 1000 whereas now its below 1000. so its not wrong then? it just seems to be slower and then kick in at a point. may just be me, but was only wondering. so it should be below 1000 then?
