Idle speed control valve?
sounds like it. Does the idle speed change at all when its hot? If it sticks at say 400rpm when cold and rises to say 700rpm when hot then sounds like idle valve

nope changed it twice. checked the spark, coil, leads, changed the throttal body, changed plugs, disconnected all temp sensors, changed ecu n now im in the proses of changing the lamda sensor which aint goin well. what else can i do

Erm ... kick it! :P might make it work! ;)

Seriously now .... HAve you done a compression test in each cylinder?

£65 down n still, lambda sensor changed and still no luck. wtf is there to do next. change the car?

Have you done a compression teston each cylinder? As asked in my previous post?

Check your inlet manifold isn't leaking somewhere, I was at my wits end, cleaned my iscv, air filter, checked hoses, etc it was still idling 500 and cutting out when coming down from high revs.

Took off the TB one day and cleaned it out, turns out the gasket was fucked, inlet man must have been losing it's vacuum between the IM & TB... replaced it and it's been champion ever since.

yep dun a comp test alll cum back very good. i have said about a air leak on the inlet to a few peps so i think im gana try dat next. does sound like a airleak as it drops right down on the revs n pics up again n drops down again! cheers mate now sum1 on here has said that i think its the way forward.

Air leak on the inlet side of things will tend to make it over rev, not under rev.

well its gana cause it to do sum shit like this so mite aswell give it ago. stephan sounds like he had da same prb
