Idle and Starting probs

Ive sorted the problem with a new ECU, it starts and runs but after 5minutes the revs drop, car shudders and goes back up to normal, and keeps doing it over and over again.

Any ideas?

???

lambda sensor heater is faulty. This has 2 issues one the problem 2 it will not provide accurate closed loop feedback and will cause other driveability issues.

It will also be worse if the cars a shopping trolley rather than a car that sits at 80mph for 50 miles a day

perhaps.

But considering it has been running very rich and all the messing about you did contaminated it, you may find that a good long drive on the motorway may get it back working normally.

A long drive 100 or so mile sin total preferably 80 mph or thereabouts so its having to work a bit. Will also help sort out the oil which will also be contaminated by fuel.

took it for a hard ride erlier, it was better. jacked it up, unplugged the lambda sensor and sprayed it with WD40. jump back in and problem solved....

for now.

Many thanks Chris H for your help. its much appreciated!

I am now looking for a centre pipe and a decat pipe for my mk1 clio. so anyone selling let me know please.
