I have bought that Clio 16 throttle body but I can't be bothered fitting it... My car has been running spot on after taking the connector out from the TPS cleaning it then plugging it back in. But last night it started overfueling again...
I am away to pick up a multimeter in a few mins to see what readings I am getting at the TPS and at the ECU will they be the same?? If not then I know the fault is in the wiring, If they are the same it could just be an intermittent fault in the TPS. Who knows? I'll let you know what readings I get.
EDIT: so i've been under the bonnet for a couple of hours testing the TPS and the ECU wiring. The TPS is fine and I have set it to 0.20 on idle and 4.7 on fully open as hooverphonique advised. But when I measured it at the ECU using pin one (earth) and pin 9 (live from TPS) I was getting a reading of 0.03 on idle and 4 on fully open... #
I wiggled a few wires here and there and the voltage changed every so often by a few millivolts (if thats what you call them) which suggests there may be a loose wire somewhere in the loom? So to solve this I got a length of wire connected it to the live at the tps and connected it to pin 9 at the ECU so I was getting the correct raeding at the ECU an it seems to solved a slight idle issue and a flat spot between 1 and 2k (most people wouldn't notice it i am just a piccy tw*t because I like things to be perfect). I took it for a quick spin and it seemed ok, but I won't know properly untill I go and feed the other halfs horses shortly then I can give it a proper blast.
It may not have solved the problem... I keep you updated again.
On the positve side my loom came from Neal

so the sooner the engine is out the better then I can put something in that hasn't been messed about with before myself
Just to add last night when the 19 started playing up again I got 20 miles to a quarter tank of fuel!! If this doesn't sort it has anyone got a spare ECU they could post me to possibly iliminate it? I'll post it back once checked, you'd be more than welcome to mark it so I don't try and swap it

. Could be a fault in it?
EDIT: been to check on the other halfs horses, their fine gave them some hay and a little happy hoof

. Did a 13 mile round trip (with the roof down of course

) and my 19 has never run so well, I am beginning to wonder if the TPS was putting the ECU into some sort of limp mode with sending the wrong signal all the time? Plus if the ECU is taking a wrong reading from the TPS will this be throwing all the other sensors out too?
I am hoping it will be like this now untill FCS anyway... also my fuel gauge didn't really move and I went down a 4 mile bypass at 110 with the roof down, not like me to be honest but I wanted to see how it'd go.
Pleased with the outcome and thanks to everyone who chipped in with advice.
Away to bed now, my work decided to send me home at 11am this morning after telling us to come back in tonight due to a defective rail that needs changing in a tunnel
Gives me all day tomorrow to clean and polish the cabby though
