Help with fuel pump

Hello, im stuck at the moment without my car as it decided to cut out on me and not start again.
I had a problem with the Altinator as the batt light kept coming on and i the car kept cutting out.
As im a bit skint at the mo i bought the new alt and fitted it myself to save on labour charges. All was good and the car worked for a day, but then as soon as i filled her up with petrol it wouldn't start again at the petrol station so was left pretty redfaced at the pump in tesco on good friday.
I think the fuel pump has gone but i am not 100% sure, Ive been told that they dont make a haynes manual for a williams which makes me a bit stuck.
Does anybody have a pic of the fuel pump and advise on the best way to replace this or is it just worth taking to a mechanic? ( rather do it myself as i enjo working on cars and it'll help me learn)
Car has no immobiliser so i know its not that, car turns over nicely but just wont start, Ive checked the fuel filter and thats fine, I think the top of the fuel pump is under the back seats, there is three pipes connected to it, i took the green line off and turned the engine over and no fuel came out. Is this the fuel pump? or is there a possibility its something else.

Any help will be greatful as i cant drive my car at the moment and its a right pain in the arse

Thanks in advance

Id the pump making any noise?

Have you checked the fuses? Theres a small (5 amp iirc) one for the fuel pump

to be honest im not entirly sure where the fuel pump is located. is the top of it under the rear seats? if it is then there is no noise from it. I have checked all the fueses inside and under the bonnet they all look fine

Cheers mate, that helps alot. Do you know if its a hard job to change yourself or is it best to take it down a garage?

Nice one. I take it i have to take it out from underneath the car as theres not much space to pop it through the top hole under the seats. But underneath i cant see it its cased in a big plastic surrounding which connects to the fuel tank, just take this off? then just pull it from underneath? im gonna have a try on the weekend.
Thanks for your help mate, still learning at the moment.

Pics i've seen lead me to believe it'll come out the top

You'll need someone else to verify that i'm afraid

Cheers for the help mate. Ill get onto that on the weekend nice one.

If anyone can verify if it does come out the top inside the car that'll be awsome. Thanks for the help

theres 2 types, if yours is a 3 then it shoudl come out the top and it'll be the combined level sender and pump unit. And yes it will come through the floor. Knock the plastic ring off.

Hey guys, had a go,, i managed to get a new (well second hand) fuel pump (3bar,12v) and fitted it but the car still wont start,Sounds like there is still no fuel going to the engine. When you turn the key the engine turns over fine but it wont fire up. Have checked all the fuses and they seem fine, i have put a circit tester on the plug that goes into the fuel pump and it says there is power going to it, the guy from the scrappy tested the new pump and he said it worked but there is no noise from the pump when i turn the key???? now im stuck again. The only other thing is when i fitted the altinator i disconected the battery (bought the car with a cobra alarm that was turned off as there was no key or fob) Would that reset the alarm or summin making the immobilisor start again? i have never had an immobilisor since i bought it. Im so confused and really wanna get this thing working again any suggestions?

in your original post you said.......

All was good and the car worked for a day, but then as soon as i filled her up with petrol it wouldn't start again at the petrol station so was left pretty redfaced at the pump in tesco on good friday.

so im assuming it wouldn't have anything to do with the imob?

I dont think so as the imob was disconnected to put a cobra alarm on at some point but i was never given the key or fob for the alarm and its switched to off when i bought the car.
