GTX central locking

GTX F2N

New Member
Hello, I just bough an almost mint 5 GTX, 38,000 miles, full renault service history, one lady owner etc etc Everythings pretty much perfect, but the key fob does not activate the central locking, the central locking works, just not remotely. I've had the unit out of the roof console, and it doesn't look user servicable, it's power supply is fine. The fob has an 8 position code, changeable with little switches, I'm assuming it is set correctly. There is no mention of a code in the Renault handbook (denim cover? hmmm) and the receiver unit only has one number on it that I can see (01347), which doesn't correspond to the fob, as there is no position 0. I know that it isn't really that important, but it would be nice. One other thing, the travel on the gas pedal is extremely short, is this normal? or could the throttle cable be tretched, there is about 4 inches of travel. Could this be responsible for the non too freocious acceleration, or is that just the F2N engine!? Thanks for any responses.

You can sometimes see the key fob and reciever for sale on ebay, you can also still get them from Renualt but are expensive.

Try the remote battery as advised.

Check the Throttle cable under the bonnet and see if it can be adjusted up, if not then try replacing it with a new one.
