It is with a heavy heart I am considering selling my gtt. I have owned it since 2007. I have stripped it to have all welding work required, re spray and an engine rebuild in 2010 to 2012. It was built back up to oe spec and then driven for 6k miles up to 2019 when my ocd got the better of me and I decided I wanted to fully strip it to a bare shell this time and proceed with doing a full restoration which I wish I had done in the first place looking back now.
Many people who saw the car thought I was mad to do it but I had other cars to use and wanted to strip this one and rebuild as much of the car back up as possible but as a oe looking Restomod project this time. I have always been very committed to this gtt and have enjoyed every moment of ownership (even the testing times!), I love the car with a passion and whatever it has needed it has had over the years. It was time to get serious with it again and here we are, my fully stripped and under seal scraped and sand blasted shell. Brave to do on a 5 shell but and a big part of me wishes I left the car alone but here I am.
There is work to do all over the shell but nothing too major depending on what quality of finish you would be going for but it is well worth saving and I have seen far worse saved over the years. Near side wing and inner wing aren’t original, it has had a light bump there in previous ownership but nothing major. Front window surround and scuttle area is mint.
I will let the pictures do the rest. I don’t really know what to price it at but if anyone is interested message me. My heart wants to proceed with making this shell A1 but my head is saying no. I am in two minds as to what to do with this shell.
Car is located in the East Midlands area and delivery can be arranged at a cost.
