Groupbuy hispec 4 breaksystem

Jonboy21t
Jo - 325 mm disc - Black calipers - Silver Bells
Jacco - 325 mm disc - Black calipers - Silver Bells
Johnspin
Phil21turbo - 310mm disc - Black calipers - Silver Bells

why black calipers??

gold is sexy!

good to go anodised over painted.

Jonboy21t - 310 mm disc - silver or black calipers, not to sure as my wheels are matt black.... - silver bells - need to measure the internal wheel & hope it's over 360.00mm....:icon_eek:

Phil21turbo - 310mm disc - Black calipers - Silver Bells

Regarding the caliper colours - you can choose from Black, Silver, Gold, Red or Blue calipers. Apparently the Black, Silver & Gold are anodised, whilst the red & blue are a high grade paint.

Bells are available in Silver & Gold anodised - other colours are available, but at an extra cost of approx ?20 a bell.

Please see my choice above...

not that you guys will be doing many 140-0mph stunts but do you know what an estimate is for replacement discs and pads for that setup??

Good question Dan - as i only do about 3,000 miles per year, i'm not expecting to change the discs for some time, as for the pads i'm sure they're not mega bucks....I'm sure Phil will ask the question at some point.....

See the link for Billet 4's - Green stuff are around ?50.00 a set. They also do ferodo's for about a ton, which are extremely good! I'm sure we could shop around for pads somewhere and find high end sets for around ?60-80...

I chose Black because it will look good on a silver car, and no need to keep as clean.... I am still tempted to go gold calipers, and gold bells, but probably won't :icon_biggrin:

Phil.... (again)

doo it..gold...its my preferred colour for when i come round and leave your car on bricks :icon_wink::icon_wink:

And thats another reason to have black.. Not as obvious to prying eyes.

I know the 21 is not desirable to car thieves, but the brakes would make it worth while, and its more in line with the street sleeper look :icon_wink:

oi, kidney boy, are you still stealing my log in....???

Ok, measured my new OZ alloys & they'll take the 310.00mm disc - will be tight but there'll be 10.00mm or so spare...

Still not sure about the Caliper colour.........think i'll stick with black..

so that's:

310.00mm discs
Black calipers
Silver bells

I take it the kit includes ferodo pads & braided brake lines.......

Gold brakes on a silver car - I wont be havin Dan around to assist with any interior design - congrats Phil on choosin black - now all you need is to lose the people that make em lol

Ive heard some shockers about Hi-Spec, albeit a few years ago but anyone with any motorsport nouse steers clear of em. You'll never see HiSpec gear on high end Cossies or Japstuff

Im really not trying to urinate on anyones parade, but it makes me laugh that my AP&Wilwood setup sold for ?350 and you all baulked n **** yourselves at that being too expensive lol

Very shiny, but i'll stick with my std setup ta. Less unsprung weight and smaller radius for said rotating weight.

Just make sure you're not in front of me for the big stop LOL

Hold the horses...

you cant compare that set mate, its crap. Sorry to say it. The calipers are the cheapest in the wilwood gamma. The pistons in the calipers got stuck real fast. The bells are redrilled to 5x108 and the hole is oversized. And i know severall racing cars with Hispec fitted. Note: whe dont have race cars but 20 year old crap. :icon_cool:

Here we go..................

I never said my old setup was the braking equivalent of Jessica Simpson spoon feeding you Ben n Jerrys whilst she pretended ur old chap was a Mint Magnum.

I'll exit this convo, sorry I commented.

dont exit, i like it when whe can compare set up's. The other Lee has comments 2 on this break set, i'll have no probs with comments.

Like i said before, i'll contacted AP and Brembo for a similar system. The prices are .... criminal.

Ok, I know a few people in the Cosworth world and the first time they visit Hi-Spec was the last time they visited Hi-Spec.

You never see AP or Brembo fitted to a 1.2 Corsa at Cardiff Cruise, but you will see Hi-Spec fitted to a 1.2 Opel/Vauxhall Corsa for the simple reason, its cheap and cheerful bolt on stuff.

Maybe, many people, many diff. opinions. Lets see what it is and then whe post comments on the brakes.

Absolutely, its just that for many this will be the single biggest thing and amount they ever spend on the car, therefore its important to get it right.

Look at me, I spent ?1200 on a paint, and regretted it after 6 months or so lol
