GreenLight RULE!

New Member
Fookin hell im over the moon!

Currently with Admiral and they initially quoted me £1575 to renew, I managed to convince them to reduce it to £1261 which I was happy with.

Phone numerous other places including Adrian Flux who wanted £2200, Tesco £2400, Bell £1375. Massive fluctuations.

After reading a few posts regarding Greenlight i gave them a call. I have 3yr ncb and made a claim last year, they have quoted me £797.70 all in inc exhaust and air filter. This includes all the trimmings also to drive all other vehicles third party.

Happy days, takes the sting out of owning a v6 immensely!

Jeez not even elephant was that low with 6yrs ncb. I do live in surrey tho.

I'm with you on that one Tapias. I got my insurance with Greenlight yesterday and they were by far the cheapest.

Insurance is actually with "Highway" but they seem pretty good.

Mines 891 with admiral. and i was 21 with 2yrs NCB! Think somebody pissed that one up! lol....Tho i'm not complaining

Greenlight aren't the insurers though, they are the brokers. Good luck if your actual insurance is with Highway (as most of greenlights policies are) as they are utter rubbish [smilie=evil.gif]

Care to explain why?

sure, Highway (who are based in essex) are utterly useless at sending out policies, all they seem to want to do is issue you cover notes, when you ask for the actual certicitate all they say is they'll post it out, you have to chase them up for the cover notes as that's all they want to issue you with :s

When I did finally get the policy, most of the detials of the car were missing from it [smilie=doubt.gif] When you call them all you get is, yeah that's normal - I know what an insurance certiciate looks like & what they were sending out was wrong [smilie=mad.gif]

Why on earth they can't just give you the whole lot in one go is beyond me.
I found that their level of customer service was pretty much non existent, how many people do you have to speak to before you actually get any where ?? Well I say any where, more of how long do you have to listen to their rubbish for [smilie=evil.gif]

It's not just me who found them to be utterly useless, a lot of others on other forums have too.

Then we get to part of claiming, I can't say what they are like from experince, but a lot of others found them rubbish at paying out, they drag their heels at any given opportunity.

At the end of the day, as the saying goes 'you get what you pay for'

I'd never go near Highway again - ever !

I hear what your saying craig, saving over £700 to the next closet quote though means i can put up with most of what mentioned above. Im not sure if it is with highway, ill have to check that out, still an amazing bargain imo

Your gonna get ass raped regardless with insurance is just how much punishment one is willing to to take.

Yeah I hear what your saying, but i'm not alone. I guess it's a mixed bag tbh, some have a good experience & others don't.

The last time I got a quote from them (greenlight, back in June) they were only £10 cheaper than my current insurer, and that included a club discount [smilie=shock.gif] So I stayed with what I know.

ADRIAN FLUX - £760 WITH EQUITY RED STAR MPAL
GREENLIGHT - £672 WITH HIGHWAY MPAL
ADMIRAL - £475 WITH ADMIRAL

All mods, buisness use and my 28 yr old fiance on as named driver. However I am an old git (39), have 8 yrs ncb and a clean licence....

LGN

With regards Highway, I have claimed for total loss through them, I was third party but was not responsible ( a speeding granny rear ended me... no seriously) and needed them to chase the claim, it took 8 months. Seemed a long time but I had another car written off in a car park, I was not in the car and the other person reversed into the vehicle and happily accepted responsibity, seems straight forward especially as we were insured with the same company... also took eight months and again t-boned in my gt turbo with privelage I think... yup 8 months oh and then t-boned in my gte and well you get the idea 8 months although in that case they owed the repairer. I now drive with my headlights on at all times as I fear I'm invisible if I turn them off.

I think they are all slippery shmucks and just make sure you personally check the policy information is correct before you need to claim never rely on them!! cheapest is good, free is better!!

Intresting with LGN quotes, amazing how they fluctuate between different peps, some insurance companies work out better than others there seems to be no common explanation, its just based on their own internal calculations for risk factors i guess?
