I thought the reg was associated with the year of manufacturer or first use rather than year of import. I have a Mazda on an L reg for 1993 yet it was imported to UK in 2015. Also had a RVF bike on an 'age appropriate' P plate that wasn't imported to UK until 2001.

My 5 is on an A plate for '84, that seems to have been registered in UK from then AFAIK, although still an import

Just made the assumption, as we know the Mk1 stopped production in the UK in 1985, so for a RHD it would be special on a 93 plate??????????
