Gearbox Oil Measuring Tool

Ive just ordered the measuring tool from Renaultparts direct and its come in a bag with a metal bracket.

Anyone know what the bracket is for?

Looks like some sort of hands free device or perhaps as simple as a bracket for the wall so you don't loose it?

Blakey recently changed his gearbox oil, he bought the tool but no sign of a bracket with his. (same part number on the bag)
