its ok pal im in no rush so dont worry! il find a suitable box to put it in tonight and get it wrapped up and sent away tomorow! :approve:

Jack, your pump ass arrived this morn, have tested it and as suspected the pump is goosed.
the pump initially shows good pressure when on the test rig with an output of 55psi, but that is at no flow, when you load the pump up the pressure does climb a little but not as it should, as soon as you try to measure the volume pumped that is where the real problems start, at zero pressure (open tube) the flow is only 15 litres an hour, this should be around 125 l per hour.
rule of thumb is for 500hp you need 250 litres per hour at full pressure, 4 bar in this instance.
i also think that the fuel pressure reg is leaking slightly and does not see full pressure, probably due again to age, these are around £75, you could of course just risk this as its not as near death as the pump, but while its out?
so what do you want to do?
i will try to ring you later today.

Jack, fixed your sender unit with a fresh pump, when took apart looks like the pump has broke up inside as there was loads of shrapnell in and around the inner housing.
the unit now pumps at 56psi, which is just under the rated pressure (worn pressure reg) and the volume at zero pressure was 120 litres an hour. thats more like it. you need to decide if you want the regulator changing as well, this as i said would cost an extra £75.
i am sure this will fix your problem, just need to sort out payment for the pump and postage back to you.
please ring or pm me and let me know, i did try to ring but it will not connect, probably my phone.

jack, thanks for the payment, am waiting on a new pressure reg which will be here in morn, tues, so will post then, since then i have had chance to look at and clean the internal filter which was choked with metal bits, i wouls strongly recommend emptying the tank and cleaning the bottom out to get the bits out as something has rotted in there and broke up.
i will ring you in morn when i post the unit.

ok mate i will see if i can source a pump from somewhere! get it cleaned out ! speak to you after!

jack, whats happening, have you got the pump back? pls let me know cos if you still have probs get in touch.

JACK: still not heard anything from you, the removal tool has arrived back ok so i figure it went well?????
please let me know if it has sorted your problem.

so the big questions are:
were there bits in the bottom of the tank?
and how does the car now feel with full fuel pressure!
