it is a bit of a minger to be honest. as they are as rare as rocking horse sh*t not many people have come across them. i will have to take the pump off and see what numbers i have on there. if anyone has the bosch numbers for a ph1 and 2 on here it would be a big help.

jack, by all means take the pump and sender out and pop across to me, i am only in nottingham, if i can get the unit apart we will see straight away if it fits or not.
if you try and get the unit apart yourself be very careful as the plastic gets very brittle after 10 years sat in petrol.

i will try and get it out in the week, is there any guides on ehre to show me how to do it properly?

don't know about guides but becareful removing the top ring that holds the sender in, don't let the unit rotate as you undo the ring as you will snap the float off. also care not to snap the ring as they are about £30 each.
i do have a tool made to fit the ring that is a great help but i would need a refundable deposit of £20 + post to send to you as you are not a club member, if you were a member this would be just the post.
if you want it let me know.

I think(!) the VDO part number is X10-745-002-012 I don't know if VDO is the OEM or if this is a replacement part. But a bit of searching may come up with other alternatives.

I vaguely recall someone needing one in a hurry a few years back (3 or 4) when there was apparently a delivery delay, so the Motor Factors guy (Now closed - he's retired) had a look round and came up with one for a japanese car which had a similar spec and fitted. Shame I can't remember who it was or what it was for.... :(

:s No they don't... sorry :( .
The siemans VDO catalogue suggests other renaults use it though.
I checked eurocarparts and their web site says they have it (not cheap but better than renault price).

does these ring any bells???
no these are nothing like, as i said, i have searched all over exhaustivley for the ph2.
the problem that no one seems to take into any sort of consideration is the shape of the vee tank, think about it, it is squat and very tall, fits behind the seats in front of the engine, this makes the sender VERY tall, totally different to any other car on the road. every other sender is short and squat,
AS ALWAYS, NO ONE IS LISTENING.
andy, sorry to be using capitals, GOT ATTITUDE.

i will have a look later when i get home, the covers are off the car as it is so will crack on into it see if i can get the tank exposed.

its on quite tight i didnt want to start nocking it because you said it may break, am i ok to give it a decent amount of force? does it just twist out? turn the big black dial around as such

get a screwdriver with a large-ish hammer and try tapping at the root of one of the tabs of the ring, dont go mad and if and when it starts to turn DO NOT LET THE INNER ROTATE, do it little by little and dont hammer any of the white plastic, it will break, if you need any coaxing or advice feel free to give me a ring, spike, 07889 1533352

do you have a blackberry or a iphone? because i will send you pics of it when i get it out ifthat helps. always easier over BBM or whatsapp

TEXT ME THE PIC BY ALL MEANS,
the rest is just beyond me.

its not up for shifting, just nock the grooves off when i try with the hammer and screwdriver!

Can you get someone with a good grip and some strength to get their hands around it, to try turning it, at the same time as you tease it with the hammer and large slotted screw driver.?

its in the moswt awkward place known to man its extremely difficul to get 2 people on it as its in such a tight spot :(

HMMM, sounds like you need this tool then, it is awkward and a pig to get off, the tool allows you to put loads of pressure on it as it has a 3/8 square drive, you will need some extensions and a power bar in 3/8 though, for the tool give me a ring but as i said i will have to have a deposit thats refundable when i get it back, spike, 07889 153352.
