Other ( non boosted Renault ) Fuego Turbo What power with a solex 32

Finally moving again on my Fuego Turbo Project as have finished renovations on the house, now engaged and a kid may be on the way, so want it done before that.

Question though, I still have the stock Solex 32 and was wondering what power would I reasonably expect from the A5L and is there any easy carby upgrades? I have a mild roadplus cam and rebuilt turbo and engine with now 8.5:1 compression.

Longer plans is to piece together a fuel injection system etc but I want a couple more years of use first. I was thinking adapting a 4age intake and using a Nissan afm and megasquirt computer.

Cheers

@DaveL485 as former owner of a colourful Fuego track beastie, was based on 2.0 turbo iirc but maybe able to help a bit?

I would say 200bhp from the Solex Carb more than fine based on power levels acheived in the 5 GT Turbo, just need tweaking to suit & check AFR's when setting up. Afraid no knowledge of the A5L engine

That is the power levels I'm aiming for. In little old NZ we don't have much of the way in modified Renaults. A few but not common.

Thank you for that.

Mine was a Fuego GTX 2.0 model converted to the 21 Turbo EFI setup so i'm useless here. You need @Brigsy or @Moggy mate!

I have just acquired an immaculate 1985 2.0 GTX and the thoughts of a turbo upgrade was my first thought - As you have been there I would be interested in your experience . Bob
