Fuego Gtx With A Touch Of 21turbo

Owned this for a while...probably 7 or 8 years. Sadly is has been neglected and left for several years due to other commitments. Time to resurrect it.... :)
It's not your average Fuego, (if you would ever class these things as average), it's an 825kg stripped out and caged one, being hauled along by a Reanult 21 Turbo engine.
Thought it'd be rude not to document it's resurrection.
Out comes the lump.

Clutch hydraulics and Brake Master had seized too so new Brake Master and Clutch Master went in with a new Clutch resovoir as that had split too.

The power steering packed up before it went out of action, we changed the rack and it wasnt that and we didnt know what pump it was.....I still have no idea!

Some surface rust cleaned and treated too.
Next episode....plumb the brakes back in, new discs and pads, new rad and rebuilding the front end.
 
Braved the weather and cold to make more progress.
Have a brake pedal now, albeit spongy, but thats just some bleeding. One of the back calipers has a broken bleed nipple though :( not too pleased about that!
Ran it the other week and it decided to howl fuel out the back....

Found a better rad.... it had, as it turned out, a 1.1 Fiesta Rad. I found a sturdier one that was fittable from a MK2 Golf GTi 8v, with a bit of pipework extension.

Once the bits of pipe I have ordered arrive I can plumb it in and run it up properly, ready for a test session at Silverstone on the 17th Feb

Front end reassembly under way, rad piped up....we're getting there!

New fittings going in, the old lot was held together with some real wierd threads and fittings so I got rid of most of it and used a bunch of RivNuts and M6x1.0 bolts :)

Almost ready....just a temp gauge to install after the capillary one broke the fitting and the brakes to bleed after fixing a broken nipple (ooo-er!)

awesome, i remember actually seeing this many years ago at a dyno day, cant remember where it was but i think someones gtt got hit by a lorry while we were there, might of been a place that did ford stuff
 
Awesome saw this car at nd on track loved it and I was at a little track in Lichfield the other day and noticed a fuego on the leader board and asked if it was yellow n red and it was you

Considering selling it if anyone would like to dice with death at 150mph.
