Hi All,

I received the below message on FB from one of the frenchies... Anyway I was asked to post on the forums, and for those of you that have travelled to la Chatre in the past then this will be something similar.

I have looked the circuit up, and it does not look that great, but would be a good laugh getting there & back. French roads are amazing and some of you will remember the good laughs we had over the years racing down them french roads....

I've already decided to go regardless, but wanted to also include stopping over at the ''ring'' on the way back (Subject to it been open) to UK. Below is my suggestion for those of you that are interested;

> Stay thursday night in hotel near to eurotunnel
> Friday 0630 - catch eurotunnel to Calais
> Arrive Calais around 0830am (local time)
> Drive nonstop to Indre for below event (6.5hrs with a couple of stops if we avoid Paris) Arrive approx 1630-1700
> Stay at meet / Indre for fri/sat night.
> Sunday drive to nurburgring, stay in a hotel
> Monday cruise back to calais, or maybe limp lol

Mileage total is around 1200miles round trip Calais to Calais. https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?saddr=calais&daddr=49.3904598,1.1253019+to:49.306749,0.719233+to:49.1471492,0.661736+to:48.9205389,0.7797272+to:48.7019664,1.0262413+to:Ch%C3%A2teauroux,+France+to:N%C3%BCrburgring,+N%C3%BCrburgring+Boulevard,+N%C3%BCrburg,+Germany+to:calais&hl=en&ie=UTF8&sll=49.001844,3.779297&sspn=5.853237,7.23999&geocode=FXp0CQMdflwcAClj4_HXdT_cRzH0edKM4Nm-rA%3BFXuj8QIdtSsRAClJddy3It_gRzFM2Zcs8sC1dg%3BFX1c8AIdgfkKACmzt8o16wDhRzFIJyQafXlCkA%3BFQ3t7QId6BgKACnB7654GqfhRzGaFCFovaQssQ%3BFdp36gIdz-ULAClhFUYHK3HhRzEQKQcyqCqLHQ%3BFQ4i5wIdwagPACmpOccs7t_jRzETHkQK5aFx7Q%3BFSpJygId-7wZACnNd_Ojq6D7RzH31ivHhYEuGQ%3BFZIJAAMdxu9pACGaWMpzG8LbgClZxRCQNq2_RzGaWMpzG8LbgA%3BFXp0CQMdflwcAClj4_HXdT_cRzH0edKM4Nm-rA&doflg=ptm&mra=luc&via=1,2,3,4,5&t=m&z=7

Estimated costs as follows;

Fuel - ?300ish
Hotels - If we pair up per room, then costs will be Around ?140 per person for all 3 nights.
Food/drink - ?30 per day
xtras - ?100.00
Breakdown cover ?50
Eurotunnel ?104
Ring pass x 4laps ?100.00 http://nurburgring.org.uk/prices.php#.Utb2n9Kqlmg

Total ?914.00 (approx) may as well call it a grand!!

So lets see who is interested..... ??

Hi Phil,
we have never met so far, but maybe i'm going too. I first have to get the car mot'ed, (2 times missed now... for ****ty things, the car is in good condition but here they want old tuned cars off the road)
As for the Ring i'm always in, if not with the 21 then with the M?gane or the Williams. I've seen on the Map, that you're travelling 5 km from my hometown.
I'm gonna see if I can manage to be free from work that weekend.
Looking forward to join in, even if it's just for the Ring.

Brilliant..... and be good to meet you in anything renault...

Hi Phil...good to catch up earier..!!
As discussed, i'm up for this subject to buying something French & fast before we go...!!
With regards to the getting to France, i've just check LD lines & the current cost leaving Portsmouth on the Thursday @ 11pm & returning on the Sunday @ 5pm is ?130 (including the reclining seat etc)......i personally would prefer this crossing as it saves the drive to Dover & the hotel in Dover etc.......of course this makes it a trek to the Ring but we could just make it a 3 day National trip to Le France....:wobble:

Hi All,

Firstly the event is at La Chartre (no Indres). Blame the french for that :)..

Secondly I have been thinking that we should do La Chatre only, and arrange a seperate date for a trip to the ring.

& Thirdly, if we do La Chatre only, then we should sail thursday night on the 2300 ferry out of Le havre, and return on the sunday at 1700.

What do you all think??

I could possibly do Le Chatre but not a Ring trip.......to be honest its never interested me really.

Im happy with those dates....days....& times,
count me in,
let me know when your book up the crossing,...........

ok so we go to La Chatre only.......

Will start looking at crossings in the next week or two... Everyone ok with portsmouth to Le havre on the Thursday night ?
