Ford Training

Well as thursday arrived my boss decided that i should go on a level 1 course at daventry ford college next week so i agreed to go there on the understanding i completed two tests. Well these soon turned into five and are bloody hard! automatic transmissions are so difficult to get your head a round! I've been told when i get down there that your tested again and if you fail then your sent back home...crap! looking forward to it though.Have you been on similar courses chris?

autos are a pain due to the valve body, the rest of is straightforward.

Most improtant thing to remember is autos when not moving just create a lot of heat.

Some boxes are better than others, some have very strange quirks, older beemer autos are best left in drive when at lights etc, the shafts weaker than the bushings so in nuetral it wears the shaft, in drive it slips on the tougher clutches.

autos have come along way since 2 speed powerglides.
