I did the HG on my brothers 1.3 Ford KA last week and have come down to thetford again this week to finish the job.
it's an OHV enduratec (or something like that) so the head came off without having to do the cam chain or anything else that would affect the timing of the car. so thats not a problem.
I've set the valve clearances to .20 and .50 as per the manual today and I've checked the order of rotation by eye which looks to be 1-2-4-3 because the inlet and exhaust valves go in that order, however; the ford tec manual doesn't list the 1.3 KA's engine but says the 1.6 endura is 1-3-4-2. With that in mind I've tried starting the car with th leads in both orders. (no joy)
I have a spark from all the plugs and leads, all the wires ect have been put back in the correct order, I can feel the compreassion building when i turn the engine over by hand and there are no tight spots where valves could be fouling. I've also had no water loss over the last week so the chamber is free from water and crap. I can hear the fuel pump priming an smell the petol on the spark plugs and i have even taken out the lambada just incase there is a blockage in the exhause.
And still no joy........
any ideas guys?
