FCS 2008 - It Was Sunny !

... but very windy !

Had a great day folks meeting you all ... The sun was out and plenty of vees to cast our eyes over :approve: I think there were about 20 alltogether and a couple in other parts of the site - including another Liquid Yellow one on the infield Renault pitch.

Track action was limited but seeing the Pug 306 trounce the Tommi Makinnen Evo was good ... Paul swift gave us a good show in the Evo with plenty of tyre smoke and doughnuts to keep everyone happy. The Michelin Trophy was also a great car to see and the owner was happy to have everyone pouring over it - Mossy even got a go in it [smilie=bowdown.gif]

It was a super day and, for those of us that stayed over in various places over Saturday night, made for a full on Vee weekend. The B&B that some of us stayed in in Lyddington was amazing and the owner was a real petrol-head and his Lambo was pretty cool too ... Thanks to Jainy for organising things again  A relaxing night was certainly called for after the rainy drive down to Rockingham - that weather was what we expected today too so I think we were all lucky ...

Our convoy back through Leicester and up the M1 had all eyes on the Vees. Sorry folks for getting us stuck in the Super Bikes traffic, but we did manage to stop off at a nice pub in Kegworth before convoying the A50 and M6 before peeling off our separate ways. I guess sure Matt, Phil and Emma are still on route as I post.

The threads and pics are coming thick and fast now [smilie=hungry.gif] ... Here is one with some of Peters pisc http://www.v6clio.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7614

Roll on the Lakes meet in July and Steves Kimbolton meet which sounds like it will also be well attended.

Been home about half and hour....long drive home, tired and weather beaten, but an ace weekend, with plenty of laughs, giggles, ace driving and above all great cars..! :D :D Great to see everyone again too...!! (plus the new faces/Vee owners...)

Always a BIG lull after a weekend like this, but we have the Lakes to look forward to and a mini-meet for the usual crowd (plus anyone else who's interested!) at Lymm this weekend....! [smilie=icon_cheers.gif]

Hope everyone got home safe and sound .....

Was a fantastic weekend! Thanks again to Jainy for arranging the accommodation, how lucky were we to get a place like that!! Great to see everyone again. Had a lovely evening, with great friends and some rather fine red wine.. lol

Had a fun drive back with DDouble and John off ClioSport in his Petrol Green 182, cheers guys, good to have some company!

Appologies to those I didnt get to say goodbye to, set off at fairly short notice. Paul and Carmel.. hope to see ya soon!

was a really good day, minus the burning of my face which i didnt notice till i got home! lol. had some good laughs and nice to see a great selection of vees.

shame about the wind and that f'ing (just for k1ano) alarm that kept going off .

the drive home was fun, especially when you shot up behind the 182 down the 404 and pushed him right up to the (ahem) speedlimit. was intresting to clearly see the power difference between the cars.

the wind was a nitemare on the way home, my car was blown about all over the shop, made it a more interesting drive though!!

roll on the lakes meet, really up for it now!

I know..... its clearly Petrol Blue

Duncan.. was your car really effected by the wind that much?

yeah it was!!

that section on the m40 just before the massive cut through the hill, it was really hard to keep it in one lane. the front just went where ever the wind told it too.

when we came down the A404 and you two put your foot down, it was feeling a bit windswept then too, which is why i backed off a little. when its exposed to strong sidewinds you have to really hold on tight.

maybe a splitter might help cure that?

CRAP SHOW GREAT PEEPS

Is how I would sum the FCS up, really good to finally meet the gang. Shame about the show as the venue seems to have so much potential, but very little managment by look of it (the Rockingham Managment that is).

We need more Traders to come in and bring there wears (girls dancing round poles un stuff, and I dont mean people from Poland. well the girls can be Polish). The less English they speak the funnier they think I am And one Token Chipindale for Jainy obviously he would have to be fatter then Steve and Uglier then me

It was nice to see so many Vees togther though, but whats the score with people comming all the way to sit in there Car for hours? Get out mingle or if your gona stay in the mota go to the Dogging section Steve told me about

Or am I completely wrong??

Oh and thanks to Jainy for teaching my only child how to be a Fish !!!!!!! LOL

Ps all Vee owners that attend and dont bring there Vee should be band.

Great to see so many Vees again. Everyones car looked fantasic! Next time I will see about having the club stand area less adjustable. ;)
It was also good to hear peoples ideas, and these will be implimented I'm sure.

Looking forward to next year, and all other get togethers.

Was the VIP suite good?

Hi you mad lot!!!

What a bl**dy good weekend that was!!! Thoroughly enjoyed it :D

Bit tired last night due to the sun and the fact somebody woke me up Sunday morning at 6.10am with there loud exhaust!!?? LOL

Big thanks has to go to Jainy for a fantastic B+B location, couldn't have been any better :approve: Still make's me wonder how such a tranquil location can exist within 20 minutes of Bieruit?!! LOL

As Martin pointed out I even managed to blag myself a ride in a V6 Trophy [smilie=bowdown.gif] i was absolutely buzzing!! Oh yeah and had a sit in a black Lambo at the B+B :D

And thanks to Sir James for keeping us all in order :D

So all the best everyone for making it a good'un. Cheers [smilie=icon_cheers.gif]

Hey guys,

Yeah I think a good weekend was had by all - and we made the most of not having a tap at the travel lodge by utilising the bath taps in my room, so everything turned out good ha ha!!

Other than us drinking wayyyyy too much on the Sat night, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Have to agree though that the show didn't seem very well organised, which I thought was quite disappointing, but there were some great cars there and it was good to meet more people with vees! :)
