Megane F4RT Megane 225 Laguna 205GT differences

I was thinking about doing the Megane engine swap into my 197 and low and behold I've been offered a low mileage Laguna 205GT. What are the detail differences?

Afaik it's the same as the megane gt165 engine, just has different injectors and maybe turbo but it has higher compression ratio vs a 225 engine. Unless you're forging i wouldn't bother tbh

Remappers quoting 250 bhp and 270 ft/lbs from remap, that would be enough for me to be honest. Whole car is only £300 and has only done 60k, 6 speed box, probably be able to sell a couple of hundred quids worth of bits so will be virtually free

If nothing else imagine if you either rebuilt or replaced in the future with a 225 lump all the hard work would already be done

You could easily upgrade it in the future tbh, although i'm sure you'll get used to the power very soon. As a base it's fine though

They do in a 182 I believe Dave but I've got a 197 . Of course if I do this it will give me a 197 engine and box to sell, or put in a Mk1 Clio
