Exhaust. Who? Where?

Hi all,

I'm looking to upgrade the manifolds, cats and exhaust on my V6 255. Looking around on various forums all I can see is either the Janspeed, "Custom Job" or the Orbisoud.

Question 1.

What would everyones preference be when it comes to the make of the exhaust? (what I'm after is something a bit special/rare, after all thats one of the reasons I bought the V. )

Question 2.

Who would you get to fit it? (This may be determined by exhaust type. ie Who can get hold of the Orbisoud?)

Sorry to go over old ground but I have emailed a few suppliers but not heard anything back yet.
Any help will be worth it and I promise to take pics/vids of the installation if permitted. :D

I know from past conversations GDI can get the Orbisound system. Have seen lots of pics of one fitted by AWT and it looks and sounds awesome. I am told it may be over priced. http://www.v6clio.net/forum/viewtopic.p ... =orbisound

The Janspeed system looks very nice too. ( for some ) Search this section for "Janspeed" for pics.

There is also Prospeed who have a very good reputation for excellence. Like H&S, Prospeed offer that "how you want it" touch.

Is that including the cats?

Would love the Orbisoud system, just need to find someone to supply and fit it.

Orbisound doesnt include "cats" IRCC

Its a cat free system, maybe someone can confirm this for me :?

Janspeed has "CATS"

Try Andy at GDI he can get and fit the system.

No cats and it will not pass the MOT, and without a different ECU you will have issues as the standard ECU will detect a fault and go into limp home mode.

BUT it'll sound great and ultimately with the right ECU and map will have more power. :)

i have just been on to Janspeed web site and have got myself confused !!!

There full system includes B/B and straight though pipes ? (to cut out cats)

Where can i go to get a remap to stop it going into "limp mode"

Getting to the bottom of this issue would be a good thing for all us Mk2 owners. What horsepower gains are you likely to get by changing the following
a. Just the back box
b full system incl manifolds and sports cats
c. Full system no cats and ECU remap

Be interested to know gains and range of costs. Anyone have an idea?

Pls bear in mind Std cars seem to be approx 245BHP to start with!

a. Just the back box [~5BHP] Already Tested Cost £350+VAT and fitting upwards.

b full system incl manifolds and sports cats [~10BHP] Already Tested Cost £1000(approx)+VAT and fitting upwards.

c. Full system no cats and ECU remap [Mucho power 8)] Other's on here have done this and more! Costs lots!

As you may have guessed, i've been looking into this myself. Should be getting a new back box on soon. I couldn't (quite ) stomach the near £2K bill for the full system inc cats and fitting! :(

We are awiting full figures on a chip for the mk2 V6. Off the shelf "superchips" gives +10BHP on a Mk1.

With regards to janspeed full systems;

approx prices,

£1000 gets the system WITHOUT cats

£1500 gets the system WITH cats.

Thanks for the info guys .... anyone got more info on the remap of the ecu ? does anyone out there specialize in the vee ?

Cheers
