I was thinking of doing this to mine, although wraping the standard manifold might look shite as its not round. might not be able to get it as tightly as I'd like
Well the heads out of the car (manifold attached) & its a standard 1. It would be easier as its out & thought that it'd get rid of the heat quicker, as you may well know, it gets so bloody hot! (just noticed ads for exhaust wraps above:lol
yeh thatd be tricky to get heatwrap round a standard mani! wots a supersprint btw? i was thinkin of heat wrappin my downpipe, just for the hell of it, while its off, wot u reckon? obviously id get rid of the standard heatshield first!
i was warned against this on my valver as the standard mani is cast made and is prone to cracking, i have however done it on my gordini and noticed a big difference in under bonnet heat and i can touch manifold when engine at hottest without it burning ( not recommended but i had to try ) i havent driven it since i have had it done but may improve bhp and keep turbo cooler
