Espace sump oil leak

While I'm waiting for a replacement blower motor I decided to look at my next problem.
The sump appears to have been fitted by a bunch of cowboys:roll:
They have obviously used a lot of some kind of mastic which has squeezed out all round, and there seems to be a variety of different bolt types, some proper Renault star, and some plain hex. Needless to say, oil had been oozing out all round. I've managed to tighten most of them and stopped some of the leaks, but one seems to have a stripped thread. The bolt seems ok, so I guess it's the block. There's quite a bit of oil coming out around this bolt, and it's getting worse:(. Is there any quick fix I can use like some kind of thread seal until I can get round to putting a new gasket in, and even then is there any way to cure the stripped thread?
It's a '95 td and the sump is the one piece aluminium type.
At the moment it seems like one thing after another, but I'll get there in the end:)

Once the sump is off you can drill out the thread in the block and fit a helicoil which will be a proper repair, not just a bodge

Doesn't help with the leak in the meantime though

are you really willing to take the sump off?

if not loosen the bolts get some sealant apply it then tighten up and leave it overnight.

btw sealant is used fromthe factory not a gasket

Thanks to all for quick response. I'm relieved that there are solutions and it's not terminal:D

Chris, can you give me more info about the factory sealant.

Thanks again.

I've finally found where the worst oil leak is in my '95 diesel Espace. I managed to tighten up the sump, no more leaks there (so far!). I then found oil was pi$$ing out somewhere on drivers side of block. After numerous washings down and trying to see where it was coming from, I'm pretty sure I've sussed it now. Its the dipstick tube where it goes into the block. It seems like a loose fit, probably worn over time. At least it's nothing terminal!!
Would it be worth trying some kind of mastic seal as a quick fix, if so would the Tiger seal Chris recommended in a previous post be the best?. Or should I consider fitting a new tube, if I could get hold of one!
