i got an f7p engine from a clio 16v and its now in my 19 but the original lump had been stripped and the wiring to the injectors is missing and the thermostat housing looks to be incomplete. has any body got any pics of a complete housing so i can see whats missing. this is how it looks.

the thermostat housing in your photos is the ph1 type, there would normally be a pressed in pipe thingy where the open hole is above/to the left of it. Pretty crap setup really and the pressed in pipe tends to leak or pop out.

Is the pipe thing not still stuck in the head of the original engine?

tbh best bet is to just get hold of a ph2 type housing which integrates the lot into one piece like the clio version.

also, yes that's the injector loom plug. Easy enough to get a new injector loom.

I see you're using the clio inlet manifold, what's the reason for that? Might run into a few complications as breathers are in different places etc.

thanks for that neal, its a phase 1 car,cam belt had snapped and the owner removed the head but then just left it,the car has been stood outside for maybe 10 years. when i bough the car the head was missingand its only now the new engine is in and we are conecting things back up these probs are coming to light. yes ive spotted that the inlet manifold is a bit different but it should re-pipe ok, can't use the 19 inlet as it has a hole smacked in it.this is what was in the car

Wow, nice 8)

Just another quick note for you... the 2 bolts in the head the left of the ph1 thermostat housing at the bottom in the photos are just blanking off the 2 holes for the 2 coolant temp sensors in the ph1 setup.

If you choose to find a ph2 type thermostat housing, the sensors go in the housing itself.

the ph1 tap in pipe is less than 20 quid, get it tap it in. Theres 2 sizes so measure the hole. If you can't get a ph2 housing.

Going to 19 manifold etc will make it a lot neater, it will be hard for it to not look a disaster using clio stuff as you'll have to run pipes all overt eh place.
