engine conversion

bidderman1969

detailer
i have got meself a compression tester, so will be finding out soon hopefully what is exactly wrong with project persil, but was considering changing to an F7P to make it a sleeper, however, it cant be as straight forward as it sounds, surely?

pretty much all of the engine stuff is a swapover, coolant stuff etc, which i know will fit, but what about brakes etc?

to me it sounds more of a hassle than its worth, unless i was keeping it, which i cant, as we will be moving soon :o

Doesn't sound like you at all!

If you are wide tracking it then just carry over the whole 16v subframe assembly. Not sure about connecting to the 16v exhaust downpipe though, you might want the whole 16v exhaust

yeah, i know dude, however, the way im looking at this is,......

i have a black 19 16v ready to restore to its former glory, handily enough, without ABS

then, i have a black 19 16v that im gonna use for the doner parts/bits thats better....(my original 16valver)

and an F7P engine waiting to go into the "project" car, which hopefully will be rebuilt and finished off really nicely, so its a proper gem.

so i have 3 F7P engines about the place, lol

think i will be getting rid of my original black one, although it will hurt when i do

sounds like an exciting project to me baz, go for it, a few people on here have done the same so there'd be lots of good advice and such from them

You'll need an entire car to get all the bits from. Do it properly like my red one and do everything 16v.

Infact, get a ph2 chammy and do the full interior (electrics etc.) You'll regret it if not

set aside a weekend for doing it and I'll come give you a hand, get Neal and Tom round and it will be a real RR get together, we could have it done in a weekend!

use a ph1 though baz (i know i will be shot at for saying that) but man it would be sweet (y)

ie ph1 seats (leather, no rear head rest/big headrests)
sunroof! tilt and slide
wide track
ph1 dash items and control switches (y)
16v parcel shelf and interior plastics
5dr door cards
rear beam with discs (Y)
hidden exhaust

i got loadsa odds and sods like that rear beam,16v struts complete, 16v brakes, sunroof, door cards, interior plastics (rear speakers, black 16v gear stick bit you know that holds rizla and tapes ect (if you wanted them and collected i would do ya a deal and maybe some window rubbers! ;) ) BUT ALL GONE NEXT WEEK IE TUESDAY SO SAY!!
theres so much you could do!

yummmmmy!!!

i know it would look sweet, however, most of that stuff is in the original black 19 i bought, ready to transfer, keeping the interior as it is, adds to the sleeper effect tho
