Electronic Wastegate

Does look like good stuff, wonder how much variance there is on enclosed environment with limited airflow around it.

Later revision rs3 turbocharger comes with manifold oem thermo wrapped....

Man maths thinks saving of having current turbo done is most of the way to upgraded one lol.....but slippery slope of hybrid option just because 🙄

A testing day for Chris @ EFI parts as never worked with an e gate.
7hrs and over 80 runs later.

Got there in the end with launch and boost by gear set up.
7psi in first , 12 psi in second.
Low boost 215bhp @15 psi
High boost 252bhp @22psi.

Shakedown at Brands went well, car felt great even on old crap tyres.
0.6 away from our best lap time, so plenty to come for sure.
We fitted the R11 turbo gearbox and ratios so much better.

Silverstone this weekend and you can watch the races live on you tube.

After a very wet and difficult Silverstone, can’t wait for summer !!!!

One lap into qually and braking into Stowe at the end of a very fast hanger straight , I nearly lost the rear and thought I’d hit someone’s oil or was I leaking fluid. Pulled off at abbey with the oil pressure light on and realised it was my oil…… bugger !!!
Out of the car and looked underneath to find the oil hose onto cooler had come off.
Oil everywhere ….. now fearing if the engine is ok.

Back to pits and the clean up starts, refit hose with two jubilees and go get some oil.
Engine starts and sounds good with 62psi , so all good. Just need to see COC to allow me to race as I didn’t complete the mandatory 3 laps. He lets me do a couple of laps behind safety car and I’m good to race.
Although starting last !!!

Race 1
Starting last in 32 place. Weather looking changeable so put on the AO52’s, needed more rain to really take tyre advantage over the guys on dry set up. It dried up near the end of unfortunately.
A rolling start, first time in 10 years.
I Choose my moments carefully and finish a respectable 13th.

Race 2
It’s wet and horrible… standing start this time and let’s what the new set up can do.
Wow, we fly off the line with hardly any spin and on the back of the M3’s but no where to go being on the inside for copse. Kept my nose clean as the visibility wasn’t great and everyone charging into Maggots.
Had some good tussles finishing 8th with a red flag after a nasty shunt ended the race 5 minutes early.

Car was mega again and can’t wait for Brands Hatch in April. The smaller track should suit us against the M3’s.

Good Results for your first Outing Dave. Shame about the oil cooler hose.

I won’t ever fit Oil hoses unless they have crimped ends. Seen it happen too many times. I mentioned to you on FB out building a 5 for Cscc future classics. (Lots to learn).

My old Boss had his Aston V8 racing at Silverstone the weekend.

Thanks, we was a 10th away from the Class lap record around Silverstone GP in the wet !!!
Certainly be checking the cooler hoses from now on. The cooler and hoses were fitted new last year after we dropped a valve.

Yeah, remember about future classic 👍
Any help /advise just shout, happy to help.
