It was on ebay. Chassis is pretty good, strut tops are a little scabby but no holes, needs the spare wheel well welding up. Needs some bodywork and a respray but other than that its great. Makes good oil pressure, drives great other than it feels like the clutch system could do with bleeding as the biting point is on the floor. Its got 12 months MOT so going to use it daily and see how it goes. Has a few rattles and knocks but what 30 year old car doesnt?! Couldnt stop grinning for the whole 150 miles drive home! I also got a full set of door and a pair of front wings thrown in.
Yeah I think Ill have to get used to it. Was great meeting you today and thanks again. Cars a credit to you.
Tell me if I missed anything out; Turbo back exhaust, 60 trim turbo, pace lower intercooler, TXi throttle body. Bigger injectors...?
Pump the pedal through its full stroke five or six times, then check the bite point, if it improves then there's air in it.
Also check you dont have a mat behind the pedal getting in the way.
Make sure the master cylinder piston is fully returned before you do so. I usually lever the clutch fork back toward the slave to push the slave inward, the returning fluid forces the master piston back to its home position if it doesnt want to return naturally. Then bleed it right through with a pressure bleeder. I use an eezibleed.
Not much of an update but I noticed the throttle had a slack to it. Found the joints on the linkage rod had loads of play in them. made up a brand new linkage at work this evening. It looks longer but it's just the perspective of photo. I also adjusted where the throttle pedal sits so it's easier for heal and toe. It was a little high it was making my shin ache!
