Driving a V6

Mine gets out whenever the weather is dry!
At weekends, I like to use it as my main car (as long as the weather is good) otherwise it'll never get used as I don't like driving it into London during the week unless I have a reason to...

Davey, do you not appreciate a well cared for, good condition Clio v6? If you were actively looking for a Clio v6, would you not be looking for one with low ish miles on it? One that was kept in a garage rather than left at the side of the road or outside come all weather?
I consider myself as more of a custodian of the car, keeping it in good condition for who ever might own it next, when that fateful day may come.
If everyone drove them into the ground, (an extreme example but one I'll use) there will come a time when there'll no longer be any Clio v6's at all.
Just my opinion, you pay your money, you take your choice eh!
I enjoy maintaining and looking at my car just as much as I enjoy driving it. So for me, I have to find a happy balance between using it and storing it. I don't feel I'm missing out on anything what so ever.

I consider myself as more of a custodian of the car, keeping it in good condition for who ever might own it next, when that fateful day may come.

As you say, each to their own. I personally believe i can keep a car in good condition and drive it at least a few days a week.
Sitting looking at the car is a crying shame! I'll gladly take a slagging for the number of resprays mines had...But equally i drive the nuts off it! It's far from being std and the service history is patchy in places, it will be over 6months late for it's cambelt change when it gets it! Care?! Nope!

Leaving you spending £15k to drive one of the best cars of our generation 500 miles a year!
Disclaimer: Not exact figures i know but not too far away either!
I think i'll just stick to looking after mine, not driving the dung out of it, and doing 3 or 4,000 miles a year

Was driving my Clio to work in hong kong 3-4 times a week plus at weekends till recently
But the miles were getting racked up plus my future mother in law wasn't too impressed when I asked her to squeeze into the front boot to take her and my girlfriend to the shops!
Add to this Hk is multistorey parking only meaning endless bumper scraping and 25 point turns for parking
So I bought a "sensible runaround" to keep the clio as my weekend toy - aka old Benz E55 - 5.5 v8!
Mpg is even lower than the vee but who cares when your rumbling past everyone with a big v8!
It also makes the vee feel that bit more special cos it's unique driving experience even compared to the E55

I've had mine since November & have done 4,000 odd miles and i cant see how i'll ever get tired of driving mine either.phillv6":e9ebco2f said:

Lol me too, plus engine cleaning, leather treatment, waxing every 6 weeks, I've had it 4 months and done 2k including 700 miles back from Scotland but its so mint and IMO THE best colour, I'm known for being Sam, oh that guy with the V6....... Lol thing isonly Vee owners would ever understand this odd behaviour, but that's what makes these cars so special, us guys who look after them [cmilie=iconcheers.gif]
