Driving a V6

Who drives their clio when?

I drive mine everyday; regardless of weather etc.

Lets see how many clios are owned by fastidious people or everydayers. Could prove quite interesting...

As mentioned In the multi-story carparks thread I don't drive mine enough.

Got a Megane 250 (with Cup chasis) in October last year which in hindsight has added to the Vee not doing many miles - the Megane is a blast and such a fantastic drive, it's difficult not to want to drive it.

That coupled with my aversion to wet weather use of the Vee (and one of the worst summers I can remember) and the fact my Vee resides in a garage 15 miles from where I live adds to me having done around 300 miles since my last MOT and service (October 15th).

Moving into a new house in a month which has a garage and I'll move the Vee there which will allow me easier access and hopefully more use!!!!

Every other summer weekend I'll have a longish blast in it? In the winter I might take it out on a dry grit free sunday

Used my old one as my daily drive & I felt like I had a better connection with the car, lived through more highs, but also more lows! Really got to know & understand how it behaves in all conditions.

I'm glad I did it, but I prefer keeping the red one for special occassions only now. It feels wild and mad when I get in it after driving around in a diesel fiesta! And, by keeping it tucked away, when you clean it, it stays clean for months not just days!!

To and from the garage and car cleaning gimp, the occasional club meeting. My health has been a bit of a nuisance recently so I miss going out for that pint of milk that we really don't need. ;)

My Ph1 was well used, and like Duncan mentions, you feel much more connected with the car, and learn about it's wee unique driving features. This current PH2 feels a bit new and special when I do manage to use it.

Drive mine as often as I can ,have a work van I use all week ,but always make excuses to drive the vee just because I love driving it :race:

Weekly return trip between Melton Mowbray and RAF Marham, Norfolk. It cost too much money to be have sat idle, so its used as nature intended and hard! Keeps all the seals nice and supple!, well that's my excuse!

That said, it's the Volvo's turn next week and that's quicker

I have to add that the spike exhaust is the best £500 I have spent on any car, ever!

It is actually superb!

not so often, its done 8000 miles in 8 years. 5000 of those in the 1st 2 years. This year so far 100 because of the crappy weather, it don't go out in the rain. The only time the wipers get used is once a year for the MOT.
My day to day car is a 3 series touring with an auto box, Its easier to drive a auto with hand controls than a manual. But if its good weather I still love using the vee even if its just into the local town just to upset the oldies when the hooligan car pulls into a disabled parking space... the looks of disgust I get till they see me get the wheelchair out.. haha love it!

Any day that's either stressful, sunny, not working or lots of people on the streets! I have a civic as a daily drive but just love the feeling of getting in it! So much heavier and real! I actually gave my civic to the mrs in mind to drive the Clio daily but....... I just can't leave it in public car parks :tumble:

Now she gets the bus and the Clio stays dry and safe :) :race:

I drive mine every day when i am in the UK (Work in Frankfurt 1 week every month) it is washed every week rain or shine. Waxed every 3 months
I could not have it laid up in the winter why spend the money to have an abandoned car deteriorating in the garage.

So in 15 years time there will be some Clio v6's left lol

I dont use mine as a daily drive.. neither did I with my previous v6.

I prefer to leave mine in the garage, where it will see about 6 trips out in the sunshine between full details and plenty of wax products. Why use it everyday if there's no need to? It makes every trip out in it even more enjoyable. 8)

I try to use mine once a week, the longer I don’t use it the harder it becomes to walk past the garage each day.

Rarely used, cleaned and stores in the garage....but trips out for drives on a sunny Saturday afternoon and meeting up with other club members makes it all worth while. It's now a toss up between the other 2 turbos as to which I take out. Sometimes it's all 3 one after the other. Love the vee and it's a sense of occasion unbolting the garage door and seeing its shiny fat ass winking at me in the sunlight!!! Taking it everyday would take the shine off for me somewhat.

Periodically. Drove it all last wk when BM was in garage, enjoy driving it when it's dry & sunny. Only drive it when it's clean!
