There was power steering available for the 5, but I'm not sure if it would have fitted under the bonnet of the 5 Turbo, It was a basic system running a cylinder which acted on the steering rack, so there would have been a pump to mount, and as you know already, there isn't that much room under the bonnet!!
The rack would have been a little more bulky, so I would suspect not...but I'm open to being corrected!
There were no (RHD) Gordini Turbos with power steering to my knowledge. There were Alpine Turbos with power steering.
The issue is (as I found out), there is insufficient clearance for the oil drain - the end of the (external) ram for the PAS hits the oil drain on full lock. This doesn't happen on LHD cars.
In the end I fitted an entirely different oil drain.
