How much would it be to buy a lower engine mount from renault to use as the development piece..

Then split the cost of the part across the group buy for the MK2 mounts

What do people think about that?

Scotty will be able to get you a cost! ;)

Peter :D

No need to bother Scott for a price, just phone any dealer and see what they have to say....

He's a busy man............and he's not there this week anyway.

What is your agenda with your Vee Jonny ?

You seem to have a number of threads and things going on ? Have you an overall plan for it ? Spill the beans ;-)

Martin

Well the plans are basically..

Fabricated Inlet manifold with filter etc
Manifolds (de-cat) mated to an exhaust.. Not sure which one yet
Cams and head work in the future.. (stage 2)
ECU tuning
Adjustable Coilovers, Ohlins probably..
Full set of modified engine mounts
And then lots of bits and bobs, wheel colour, spacers, side pods, seats, bulkhead, bulbs etc etc etc..

Should be looking around 290hp+ with them modifications and improved handling..

I like the car but it really feels like it needs them bits sorting out and it would be 100% better

IMO....
Fabricated Inlet manifold will be £££
Cams and head work in the future will be £££
ECU tuning will be £££ (unless you just remap the existing ECU)
Adjustable Coilovers, Ohlins probably will be £££ when fitted and adjusted professionally.

Its all £££. Thats NA tuning, and mods for low volume cars for ya! :(

But you gott love em!

Inlet manifold i have covered :approve:

Cams and headwork is a maybe, but would be done at the time of fitting clutch etc to lower labour costs, which again shouldn’t be a problem

Re-mapping the OE ECU for now and then I have very good contacts at Motec if I decide to go further

I am personal friends with the UK imported for Ohlins and he was my engineer in this years racing :approve:

As for the brakes really they are powerful enough for road use which is all i use the car for and could be improved enough with pads etc for me to be happy with..

Im under no illusion how much these things cost but it does help if you know the people who make the parts

Jonny

I know someone who has a set of TWR ported and polished heads for sale complete with cams and valves. You would need to make your inlet to suit as a standard one does not have the right place for the injecters.

If your intrested PM me I have some pictures.

ill send you a PM

Lets get back onto topic anyways!

Ill get a price for this standard lower engine mount for a MK2 and we can go from there..

Jonny

#### UPDATE ####

Mk1 engine mounts going into production now. Max was a definite so his is underway.

Total cost should be about £85 incl. VAT + p&p (£5 approx as it's not light!)

Please let us know if you're interested, payment in advance may be required to ensure we don't over order.

I imagine a Mk2 mount would be very similar to produce (£85) though I haven't seen one to know if it will involve anything more intricate...........should help you Mk2 boys with costings if you're looking at buying a mount to use.

A very cheap and worthwhile upgrade.

Tim

awesome.. Thanks for that

So all is needed is a mk2 lower mount and then the mk2 mounts can go into production from there?

Ill PM all the interested parties and ask if they would be up for splitting cost of the mk2 OE mount

Thanks

Jonny

Not sure how you would do the Mk2 as the mount on the drive shaft bracket has a rubber mount on it not just a thred for the bolt.

PM system seems to be up the creek at the moment so I'll post this here........

I'm ordering more mounts on Thursday (MK1) so if you'd like one from that batch please contact Scott at SG Motorsport to arrange payment (£90.00 incl.VAT & p&p) Tel: 01249 720040

Tim

Just a quick update - picked my mount up from Tim last night; nicely made and good quality and definitely a lot stiffer than OEM - a worthwhile upgrade.
