Any PC watercooler people out there?
I have a AIO CPU cooler but want to build my own GPU water cooler. Before I type out what I want to do, anyone out there do this kind of thing as well.

I am expecting

Back when the danger den maze 2 came out I had a complete custom setup. Worked incredibly well with a motor bike rad cooling. Custom water cooling, volt mods and big overclocks. To much time on my hands clearly.

Lets see how much things have moved along

That is too cool for school! Love that!

may be of assistance here 😉

Who the man?
@Chromeo_R8 the man!

I have a MSI Trio 3090.
I mine BTC and play Cyberpunk / Flight Sim 2020 ( no gaming while mining and vice versa ) I also do some (lots) of boring development work with VMWare and the 3D platform.

In my cramped case I have a Corsair H80i doing a fantastic job of keeping my 3 year old I7-8700K running at 5Ghz. I have no need / want to change this loop. I can place it vertically , or horizontally without issue.

My goal is to quieten down the fans on my 3090. It sounds like its ready to take off. It holds the temp very well admittedly, and a few carefully placed 120mm fans have kept temps while 24/7 ( just about ) mining to ~59 deg C. Albeit at around 4million DB, or thereabouts. I have no requirements to overclock. If anything Ill undervolt at some point.

I am thinking water-cooling is the route forward for this , but my case is a bit small. I don't really want to change it and a Dremel for mad max style radiator placement is allowed.

Case : Obsidian Black GameMax PC Gaming Case with USB 3.0
Pics : Its firmly function over form. I have the relevant dust shields on normally.

I have compiled the following list :

Block : Alphacool Eisblock Aurora GPX-N RTX 3090/3080 Gaming X Trio with Backplate
Pump/Reservoir : HYDRO X SERIES XD3 RGB BLACK RESERVOIR / PUMP COMBO (CX-9040003-WW)
Radiator : Alphacool Nexxos ST30 Full Copper 240MM Dual Fan Water Cooling Radiator - Black
Fans : Arctic Cooling F12 TC Case Fan - 120mm * 2
Coolant : Mayhems XT-1 Nuke V2 1L UV Blue Premixed Fluid
Ancillary items : Alphacool Eiszapfen 13/10mm Compression Fitting Black (6 Pcs) / Mayhems Ultra Clear piping

Have I missed anything off or made any glaringly bad choices? Any help is appreciated

Ayup chap mines abit overkill but not 100% finished yet I’ll get some more pictures when I’m home from work 😅

if you want to vertical mount your gpu i would highly recommend the EKWB vertical mount it’s pricey for sure but it’s a complete kit and made out of 1.5mm steel so no bending here! (Same as what’s in my case) uses 6 or 7 pcie slots to mount and screws into 2 standard atx motherboard locations it’s a hefty bit of kit none the less

i have got Ek fittings but prefer the look of the corsair blocks / rads ect which are all pattern parts for instance the rads are made by hardware labs but branded under Corsair, I’ll be going for the same pump res in this iteration of my build 👍🏻
youll find that because Corsair parts are patterns they are usually cheaper than the likes of EKWB, alphacool ect more beginner friendly too if you have any doubts feel free to message me

usually although your limited by case size a longer thinner radiator is unusually better than a shorter thicker one just down to how much air you can move over surface at one time

hope this helps mate, Liam

Looks good. What are your full load before and after temps?
Before
51 deg C on GPU, on CPU. GPU, air cooled, CPU AIO Corsair. GPU core -300mhz, mem +950mhz. 70% max power

After
27degC GPU, 31degC CPU fans on max. “Silent” mode is 41 deg C , 47 on CPU.

I need to find a way to cool the memory junction on the backplate more. It’s not thermal throttling, but getting to 100degC
