Hi All, Currently building a lightweight Alpine GTA Turbo LM for hillclimb and sprinting. The engine is a 21 Turbo J7RF756 for low C, of G. and weight.
Currently the overall weight projection will be sub 950Kilo with circa 260BHP. My question is as to suitable clutch set as the engine came without clutch/cover/bearing so need the lot. Marrying to UN1 as standard set up.
Helix now only do the clutch plate. I would appreciate any experience, recommendations and supplier/manufacturers etc.
Many thanks
TJ

@Andyquadra - this pic was July 2005 - fifteen years ago  is this the day we nearly chopped your thumb off dropping the box out? View attachment 149458View attachment 149458View attachment 149458
Thanks Dave for the pic, I get the layout now, have you also got the suppressor part number please, the one I have has got the bracket missing which I assume is the integral earth. Regarding the module the only one I have found so far is secondhand and in Holland. BTW mightily impressed by your carpeted drive way, thats what I call a 5 Star workplace!
Thanks again
Tim

Tim, think you'll end up in sports Libre , non production base engine. That's where I was told my LS3 engined would go. Turbo choice will be crucial as they are pretty laggy with a bigger turbo so not ideal but some of the new modern turbos give massively improved throttle response over a T3/T4 type set up. Currently having a Garrett G Series fitted on my 3 litre turbo.

Is this the phase 3 wasted spark coils?

If its this you're after

Hi Dave Thanks for info on module, I finally tracked one down in Holland. BTW do you have a part number for the suppressor as my one has the bracket (whigh I assume is earth) missing.
Can you help on this one, I am trying to track down the ECU pin configuration as currently about to rewire everything.
Would you have a diagram explaining these?
Thanks
Tim

Ha! That was making do on an open concrete pad some years back. I'm much better facilitated now :)

I think the supressor is 7700676914
I posted the supressor number above ^^

Workshop wiring manual here though I can't remember if this encompasses Phase 3 engine loom or not.

Hi Dave firstly that is a seriously envied Man Cave ! Secondly and again I thank you for your help especially as I am a bit of an outsider with engine only. As I think I read you say it does not matter who or how the info came to be but the fact that you can access it that counts.
Thanks again.

Thats the one Dave, where is it mounted on the car?
Thanks for this very helpful.
Cheers
Tim
Hi Dave

Hi Dave I wonder if you can help, I am trying to find out what pin on the ecu a non standard tacho can get its signal from?
Thanks
Tim

If the ECU is factory based there is no direct tach output.
For my old SPA unit and the current D2pro I have to use the green wire on the white 3 pin connector at the coil driver unit with a couple of smoothing filters to get a decent square wave pattern.

My mistake I thought you were running a single coil
On a single coil it's one of outer terminals of the white connector depending how it is labeled ,A B C or 1 2 3.
On a twin coil set up you got me checking again and it is still a green wire but there is an option of terminal 12 on the ECU , this would be better and cleaner output.

Great, thanks Richard, I can see on my ECU wiring diagram I have not used it so will give it a go. I hope the VDO Rev counter can read the wasted spark as I was led to believe.
